The proxy host had a hardware failure and changed our IP address without any warning and gmail didnt think this was important enough to send it to my main inbox 
what absolute fantastic service. The fact this happened on April 1st threw me, tell you that.
Since this is a DNS change, this may take up to 24h to propagate across the world.
