Hello first I want to thank GodsDead and the staff for this wonderful server, and all the players I’ve met have been nice and responsible (then a few players cause I’m a builder and a miner). I will soon be a donator, when my fortress will be finished.
I want to see this server going on, I have huge projects, so I’m ready to help if you REALLY need it… “really”, because alas I would have some difficulties : I’m not an expert of command lines, and I’m French so sometimes I could misunderstand.
However, I’m a 32 years old insurance broker on my account and I use law science almost everyday : I know how to really scare a very disrespectful player…
I wish I could continue playing without serving, but I’m at your disposal if you need, especially toward the worst players, because I love this server !
I have been playing Piratecraft for a very long time, and i know what people do. One admins are offline, they start acting up ( Like swearing, glitching, etc). I hate this, and i think this has to stop. @GodsDead i think that the (lets just call it helper rank for now until released) is a great idea. Players won’t even see what will hit them. I will help PirateCraft in anyway possible, from screenshots to recordings about something serious.

This post kinda raises the idea of a second (none-pirate-related-server). Theres been a lot of talk about the fact Mean/rude people can talk like that because its a pirate server, But nope you still should not talk like that. So don’t blame the server theme for your actions.
(Idea) there was a server I use to play that had a moded server and just a plane survival server. Okay so PirateCraft is are moded server with cannons, ships, Crazy ass potions, ect. So could you make a second server that had no pirate theme but was just plane survival server. So Maybe it would be called {NoPerksPiratemc.com). There Always has to be a LiveMap,SecondWebsite,GriefPervention,Siege, But no pirate related things.
I would LOVE your opinion on this @GodsDead @smokeyriver I know it would be some work on top of the Mind Aching work you do, But sense theres no pirate theme theres not much maintenance to be done Thanks.

Guys (@texhnolyze) just give Godsy some time and space. I’m sure he and the rest of the mod team are their butts off to get the server back to it’s former condition, by that I mean when newbies didn’t result to whining whenever they got killed or lost some crappy gear. I have personally, through writing the news and playtime, found some of the newer people that come on to the server not only idiotic but downright offensive to not only players but also staff members. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior and just a suggestion, @Godsdead you could whitelist the server so that only those who applied on the forums and such are allowed in. I know that most players and mods would want an open PirateCraft for anyone to join, but it just seems like this new generation of players have no respect whatsoever for any authority figures…
P.S.: Another idea I just thought of would be to make it mandatory to read the rules. So, sometimes servers will have a room that you must read the signs in it to proceed before you can play. This might work a little better to grab the attention of newer players than just a bible in their inventory…

There are certain added things you could do to the site. I have a trading network that I run that has over 1000 people in it and I had to get out of forums and chats from helping people. There is a a system that I integrated onto my site from tawk.com it is a customer service system if you will.
Very easy to integrate within a word press site like this as well.
As far as staff… an Air Marshall process could be considered like stated before…it is kept secret and only has certain duties like kick, mute tp but no other granted moderator staff rules .
And I do agree that this is a Pirate server and we should be all about the Pirate way so I say we Make up Our Own language that involves swears of colorful flavor but not abusing. I have seen it as norm to be little people and insult them and even to go as far as say sexual harassment statements this is unacceptable . I have my wife and 11 year son playing on here.
I Love this server and can respect why godsdead did this… So lets clean it up and get back to playing.
Also I will be announcing my new Pirate trader Channel that will be all about playing minecraft pirate craft while I trade the markets during the day I will keep you updated.
I think anonymous staff would be brilliant, no way for people to accuse staff of being prejudiced if they have no idea who they were, plus, staff could “strike” at any time, so people wouldn’t act up once staff leave.
Do you mean that there would be some players along the “main” staff that have this ability, or just make every staffmember anonymous?
If the latter one, what happens to messages like “is there an admin on?”
Other than that, I find this anonymous muters -idea brilliant.
EDIT:
Additionally, we could have a Helper rank that answers questions and nothing else. This would leave the actual staff out of retarded questions. Like GodsDead said, this takes up a large amount of their time. Admins are not waiters. I think a reasonable solution would be to actually have a “waiter” rank (Helper).
The pros of having this rank is that a promotion to it requires none trust. The only way they can abuse is by giving out false information.
CrazyPirate I would agree with your thinking how to manage it. I know a plugin which allows you to filter words, this plugin will count the words, which are blacklisted and after an concret amount of words you will get muted. I think the first mute time is 6 hours, the second time 12 hours and so on.
But I don’t know if this plugin fits with the other ones. I will try to find it and show you @GodsDead
I agree with GodsDead about whitelisting the server because even when I just connect I always see people fighting/not being polite. And we should really answer questions of new people because every days so much new people are joining Piratecraft and I can imagine how it is to have 20times the question “where do I play piratecraft?”.

I agree with BGraph; a sub staff rank as a helper to just kind of reign in the misbehavior of others is a good idea, giving them limited commands. I also think that the players should take it upon themselves to help out a little more when others are having problems. Maybe the punishment for those who do the things listed above in the original post should have more severe discipline. Any of them that disrespect staff should have maybe a single warning and them tempban/permban depending on how bad it is. I’d be interested to see what other means of chat you mean @GodsDead. I know there are several annyoing and abusive players who need to be dealt with, maybe a personal mute option could be viable. For example; I’m playing, and im tired of seeing what someone is saying, i could just tempmute that person for me alone rather than a whole crew or server? Just an idea.

GodsDead this (For-Asking-Questions) PirateMC wiki page will do no good for help answering questions. This is because most people who are asking these questions are noobs/Deckhands. And If I just joined the server I wouldn’t know we had a website or a wiki. I personally dint know we had a wiki until Cadet-Sailor. This is my suggestion put yours in the comments. When someone tags me as @crazypirate1, I get a notification and can follow it to where I was tagged. However, when @crazypirate is used, I still get a notification, but cannot find where I was tagged. Its odd, and it means I often get ‘ghost’ tags, like the post above; I was tagged 5 times this morning, 1 of them in the mortars post, and 4 above, yet I was only able to see the Mortar post ;P
Also, back on topic, I find Funky Panda to be a decent channel for content, and one of my favourite gym songs is

Thats cool, when I started listening to electronic music a few of years ago I found myself gravitating towards the harder end of the dubstep like Code: Pandorum, Excision, Destriod, but i do like a lot of trap and glitch hop too which is more groove. My wife doesn’t understand my new love of the electric music since when she meet me I was playing in a black metal band. 🙂
I actually didn’t think about geo-locking on YouTube. I remember seeing somewhere that Germany bears the worst of that practice. I currently live in Egypt so I’m using a vpn to get around that kinda stuff when i need to.

A shared Spotify playlist would be sweet and pretty eclectic considering the wide range and age of the folks on the server.
The metal playlist is what I listen to most. It makes mob hunting a lot more exciting or really anything more exciting. hahaha I ended up with a bunch of old skool punk rock in that list after I came across a GBH video. Got all nostalgic thinking about skating all night getting into mischief back in the 80’s. But for gaming you can’t beat Dying Fetus or Cattle Decapitation.
@CrazyPirate the Dropkick Murphys do rock. I’ll have to add that to the list. As far as Irish drinkin music goes I’m a big fan of the Pouges.

Well um Godomasta considering your recent report by Crackerz which shows your disrespect towards staff members I don’t see how you plan on getting anywhere with this post. Not only that but there are almost always one or two moderators on ts, I am on pretty often so I know what I’m talking about. And one final note, if you actually wanted to prove your innocence in this situation don’t go around dogging Godsdead or any of the other mods that for who knows why haven’t banned your sorry arse yet.
