    Palmer, if u want to fight people with similar gear to yourself, make your own god gear. It isnt that hard

    the things you are suggesting (lowering the top enchant values and removing potion effects, i would quote them but cant be bothered) is not something you can simply implement 4 or so years into a server’s life. This would be something that must me made a thing on DAY ONE, so people will know what they are getting into.

    I’m not losing my mind over it, I’m only offering solutions which could work and not annoy too many.

     

    As a proper response, I haven’t been stating to remove items, but as you have said, a way to possibly liven up pvp, by encouraging people to want to fight.

    I also noted that I don’t pvp often, nor win pvp fights often due to the fact that (I think anyways) do not have the skill to pvp effectively, and I believe other people may share that belief. If someone was however to feel they could win a fight, like I would, I think that would be more encouraging, but it isn’t something I am pushing, all I did was offer a solution, not something I believe SHOULD be added as I am perfectly fine with my approach to the server as of now.

     

    i highly suggest adding like a 10 second pearl cooldown to prevent people from spamming them to get out. it would allow god people to die more and 10 minute fights would probably end up with someone dying.

    This is a good idea, I can understand the annoyance of a goal in sight (that being the potential kill), only for it to disappear right then and you find yourself back at square 1.

     

    The only point I do wish to possibly be implemented, it being really the top of my list, which I know again is something which someone should just do by themselves like what you said about the godset.

    But I find pots and gold apples often something which I dislike in pvp, but I know how important they also are to people, which was why I suggested instead of removing potion effects, we should instead remove the pvp based potions, and instead provide the effects you can get from alcoholic drinks, encouraging the use of the brewery plugin.

    Again, I might get the same response, but I’m fine with how the server is right as of now. I wouldn’t mind seeing the ‘bunker buster’ aspect of the firework projectile reintroduced as I thought it was a fun way of again implementing often lesser used projectiles for the cannon as well as encouraging again the use of the cannon.

    I wouldn’t mind also seeing some new siege able blocks added, but I would encourage again the use of bunker buster aspect of the fireworks projectile as further use of the cannon plugin.

    this post has turned from a suggestion by monks to liven up the PvP on the server to a bunch of people complaining about BASIC things in minecraft, such as Prot 4 and stuff.

    1. Godsy’s not gonna get rid of diamond gear, or create a war system to wipe out crews, or reset the entire map. (Was that a different topic? Probably. Whatever.) He’s not going to do anything drastic. The staff team is most probably looking into ways to solve this problem, i.e. adding guns, without changing the server entirely and losing half, if not most, of the regular players.

    2. No shame in hiding, no shame in running around killing everyone. Some people just want to be left alone and mess with redstone.

    3. The Christmas event, just like last year, has PvP off for a limited time. Go enjoy it while you can if you think you’ll get jumped when it’s on.

    Joe, it is alright to feel annoyed about Okta’s idea as it would directly effect you.

    However, it is more often the pvppers who are moaning about how half the server will not pvp them and will hide from them, though this may not entirely change, what is being suggested here is something which people who would usually do that is saying is stopping them from coming out.

    I note in my comment that those who are often top of the pvp tree, have great skills in pvp, and those who are often hiding, feel like they don’t have a chance due to have poor gear (usually), and if not, it is due to the fact they have knowledge that their skills usually cannot match those of the pvppers.

     

    We’re not saying pvppers are the cause, but rather the existence of these over powered pieces of gear, which people take ages to craft. Which those who do this enduring task, do rightly deserve a weapon of that calibre but it is those players on the server who do not play to pvp like other people do.

    This doesn’t mean we should remove pvp or get rid of it either, but rather encourage it by lowering the line perhaps, so people who don’t have that overly enchanted gear have a fighting chance against other players.

    I think this is why we should instead encourage skill rather than what gear we have.

     

    It does however, as I can see, make events like the Christmas events or Halloween events seem pointless, as people go to get the enchanted gear. We could however keep that, as that would mean again people have gotten this gear via skill and perservarance, and they’d have greater worth and rarity.

     

    i don’t know, just some more ideas as I argue that point. I know I’d certainly be more encouraged to fight if I knew those who I’d go against may have similar gear to me.

    If u stand on top of a fence during a siege and break it you fall through and get kicked – but u can just log back in and you would be in the base

    A lot of work has been put into people’s bases so far, and I doubt they would be happy with a restart, just sayin

    Well, a lot of these people are also the “op” players that GodsDead wants to make less powerful. Also, a world reset would be a perfect time to reset the economy – this would accomplish another one of GodsDead’s goals by taking ALL of the money out of the economy.

    Assuming these players have a lot of money, here’s what will happen:

    • We start selling rare items at cove, so they will spend a good chunk of their money
    • More rare items, until they have no choice but to sell some of their existing stuff
    • More equal distribution of wealth, ‘OP’ players have stuff to show-off with, and money is taken out of the eco, win-win.

    Mini economics bit:

    As for all this ‘money out of the eco’ – we’ve managed to take out at least 300k so far, so its going good. We don’t want to stagnate the eco with having no money, but less money means its value goes up, increasing the value of items. It’s already starting to level-off – we have many more players with moderate amounts of money, rather than just a few with almost all the wealth. We’re getting there 🙂

    So as many of you might of might not know, 1.14 (Aquatic Update) is going to add a lot of changes and a few new biomes. I am fairly new, and have only explored the North-East side of the ocean, and it is cluttered with shipwrecks and claimed, useless, tiny squares of land. I call for a server reset when the Aquatic Update releases, despite many of your hard work, to get some of the new coral and dungeons in the game. The world, I believe, has not had a reset since 2014, and we need one desperately. Think about it. We have no sponges. We will have no coral reefs! That will suck, especially for people who want to build a real-life aquarium. We will have no shipwrecks, loot for noobs!

    Just think about the benefits.

    All those ‘noob homes’ and ‘dirt huts’ gone.

    Time for new empires, appeared.

    Everything is coming to reality!!! MUAHAHAHAHA

    JK about that last part.

    Hey Alastes, as the others have said, if you can give us more information we can look into it.

    Heres the forum thread about the claims getting overwritten, but without more information we wont know if you were part of that bug

    Unless you had all your claims in a densely populated area close to someone else? can you maybe post a link to the map aswell? you just go to the map, zoom in to the locations and you click the link icon bottom left, then you can copy/paste that link in here.

    No.

    This happens when the stats plugin looses connection to the database, happend many times before.

    Stats are NOT reset, it just looses connection and displays 0 then increments from there.

    its fixed by just reboting the server;

    Some maintenance on the website while I’m ill 🙁

    The wiki is the most underrated used piece of software, you can do anything with it.

    Like for example, today I found out anyone can create a Template https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Templates that anyone else can use on their Wiki pages, They are created the same way you create a normal page, just prefixed the name with Template:Pagename.

    Some ideas that people could create templates for

    Global information on info boxes https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Streamlined_Infoboxes

    Remember its the exact same software as Wikipedia so any of Wikipedia templates can be copied to PirateCraft Wiki and adapted to use! Someone needs to set the standard here!

    First mate is the highest rank you can buy in-game, once you have it, that’s it you are firstmate forever! The only next logical rank you could obtain is quartermaster, but its hell-a hard to get! So you are the highest paid rank you can be, if you wanted to go higher you could get a donation rank that goes over the top of Firstmate 🙂
