Here is an interesting alternative bounty plugin, Godsdead:

It functions similar to the one we already have, but what it does is keep bounties anonymous. That means you must pay a small sum to take a contract and you have 24 hours to complete it, but you don’t know who your target will be before you accept it.

+The positive+

-o- The plugin reduces bounty gaming because you can’t scan the bounty list for certain targets you’d like to deal with.
-o- The system adds an element of surprise to gameplay.
-o- Bounty hunters are encouraged to attempt hits on players who aren’t commonly targeted – due to the potential loss of money from accepting the contract.
-o- Players are also encouraged to go after big cash incentives than to deliberately harass small fry.
-o- Bounty kills are announced in main chat, meaning bounty gaming can be picked up on by observant players.

-The negative-

-o- Players in big crews or players with many friends are discouraged from using the system, because chances are they’d have to hunt and kill an ally. (This is a big minus point!)
-o- You might accept a bounty, only to find the player is offline or won’t be online while you’re playing.
-o- A player can still be alerted by an ally who randomly takes the bounty – so bounty gaming won’t be eradicated completely.
-o- Players can still agree to share the profits after informing their target of their intention to turn in the bounty. (Though likely only players who trust each other will do this.)
-o- The monetary penalty can theoretically be abused by killing the target player over and over and setting a new bounty each time.
-o- You get no visual recognition for being a renowned “wanted” player.
-o- The plugin tracks target players’ rough location, presumably also when they are invisible or in pitch blackness.
-o- I don’t know if the target player is alerted to receiving a bounty or not.

The problem with bounties in Minecraft is that death isn’t final. You’d have to find another form of punishment to make players want to avoid having their bounty turned in. It can’t be a monetary penalty and it mustn’t be able to be used as a siege mechanism or a way of handicapping a player in PVP.

So all in all, I’d recommend sticking with the current system for now. The aforementioned plugin is worth looking at, however.

No at present all money is player based money, I don’t want to start spawning money out of thin air

@Godsdead , instead of place the moneys balance, we should base it on their kill streak kinda like you said. If the kill streak is 30, multiply it by 2 to get 60. This keeps the op from being too op and the poor from being harassed. Who wants to kill someone for $2? No one. Who wants to kill for $500? Everyone.

In two of your screenshots the chat says you tagged me and the rest show me at a reasonable distance away from you crouching underwater, that just proves my point that you kept killing me every time that i went back to salvage my stuff. XD

Any time i attacked you it was in self-defence which was allowed, if i came back with better equipment it was because i knew you would try to kill me and my only hope of getting my stuff back was if i had stronger armour, if using logic as a means of surviving on a PvP server is wrong then i really am guilty for trying to get my stuff out and alive, i even used an ender pearl to try and escape from you with my loot.

Also, your final screenshot is censored since you are reporting me then you shouldn’t censor anything you should be transparent and honest.

Like i told you, this was all a waste of time that could have been avoided if you stopped shooting me every time i went back to collect my stuff.

9. Use common sense.

These rules aren’t exhaustive.
If something doesn’t appear in these rules but seems like it should be forbidden, then it probably is!
Ask staff members if in doubt.

I posted this rule because it is relevant to the case, in the game itself it says to use the “/back” if you have died to get your lost gear which means that i was actually not breaking any rules, i was using an in-game mechanic for its correct function and purpose.

Be polite & respectful to players (no trolling, harassing, bullying, etc) Respect other players. If you’re angry against a player, use a pirate insult, nothing else. Do not try to troll players and do not attack a player repeatedly without a valid reason.

The fact that you weren’t allowing me to get my stuff back and kept attacking me on sight shows that you were harassing me and i’m sure JaceBlade who got involved can also point out that you were using Verbal abuse directed at me, something you seemed to have conveniently left out of your screenshots along with many other things.

Rules, so like i said this was all a pointless waste of time and effort, when in truth all you had to do was let me get my stuff without attacking me.

Me and @Godsdead watched Dragon and Reiikoz do the near 20 on 2 fight at dagersh’ base recently, i know that dragon does use god apple, and LOTS of potions, iv personally spectated both guys in various fights and have struggled to find hacks.

The trouble i have with this, is they do die regularly, and whenever i have watched them iv not witnessed any cheating.

A very fine line between being very good at pvp and hacking from the outside looking in unfortunately.

Everyone used to scream hacks with java, but now accept hes good. he isnt going to be the only one.

With a bit of diggin around on google, there is no records that i coudl find of dragon having been banned on any other server for hacking etc, and there is no real evidence of either of them doing so,

While we are still watching them, we dont feel that they are hacking, perhaps for your own safety, you dont entertain his fights?
