Hi all, as you might know, PirateCraft switched hosts from North America to Europe. Since that change, us Americans have had quite a bit of trouble trying to log in to the server. From having around 15-70 ping, we now currently have 120-180 ping on our best days. However, bad days seem to be a reoccurring trend. Whenever I am able to connect to the server (which is extremely rare now), I get around 1000-7000 ping. Some may call this ping “unplayable,” and I would have to agree. Today, January 22nd, 2020, some of the other American players including myself are having an extremely difficult time connecting to the server. From 4:30 PM EST to 9:10 PM EST, I have been checking every now and then to see if I’m able to log on. So far, on my best tries, I am able to load in a few chunks and my items inside of my inventory, then get disconnected.
What I’ve seen and what other Americans have seen when they log on:
First, the icon to click on the PirateCraft server for me has either an X on the connection symbol or after some refreshes, it’ll say the usual description it always has. After I click on it, I would very slowly start to have a few things around me load in. I would check tab and my ign, “MinisterMoo” wouldn’t be there and there would only be 3 names and a blank space and an empty inventory. Then, I would wait a bit longer, and my first chunk would load in. I would check the tab again, and my name is still white and my skin hasn’t loaded. Throughout this time, I check #gamechat in the discord, and the bot will say that I’ve joined the server. Later, I would sometimes see the items inside my inventory and the armor I was wearing. Then, about 20-30 seconds later, I would be disconnected without being able to say anything in chat or type any commands. Additionally, the only messages I see in the chat is the crew bulletin-board and the lottery message. The disconnect message is either “Timed Out” or “Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: Connection reset by peer.”
Troubleshooting:
I’ve tried lots of different ways to troubleshoot this issue. First, I tried resetting my launcher. Then, I tried refreshing my servers list many times. I’ve also tried having a staff jail me so I can load into a chunk with fewer entities. All of these ways have failed, and I still am unable to connect properly to the server. I am still looking for the appropriate solution, and I’d like to see your feedback down below. If you live in the Americas and are experiencing the same issues, please inform us all down below. Thanks for your time and for reading this.

Topic: The Purpose of PirateCraft
The purpose of this server is one of the most common querries of players new and old.
Some suggest it is to pirate, as the name might suggest. To become all powerful in fleet, nation, crew, money, gear…
Fame and fortune, that’s one of the simplest and most common answers. However, despite the sure resentment I shall garner in my disagreement, I must concede my diquest at such an idea.
To find beauty in the sadness at loss created by this misconception of purpose is a prospect I find most rewarding.
Befriend the intelligent, the nice, and you shall find true home among the madness that otherwise resides here.
Don’t look for those who are popular or rich or mighty…whatever promises they might offer fall short of true friendship.
Only betrayal awaits those who follow such ideals.True friendship comes from finding those who have been thrown aside as unworthy, those who are in poverty and have given at least love and wisdom to the rest of the world…
Mistakes, they may have made. But to join forces with them…to partake in the glorious journey they might share with you…that is a gift I among few can cherish.
Set aside lust, greed, and all such fruitless desires so you might experience beauty in the pain.
Read a book not by it’s cover, but by it’s contents. Presume all assumptions dangerous, “innocent until proven guilty” if justice you prefer.
And judge fairly not necessarily in what is right and wrong, but in what is most prosperous from a worldwide view. This wisdom I leave to thee with the best of wishes.
Read it as you shall, I guarentee only good intentions in my writing.
Now, farewell. And may you find prosperity as I have.I am a loyal follower of Colrainism and hope to bring prosperity to all who wish to receive it.
Topic: Crixton’s Note
My name is Dane otherwise known as Crixton, I started pirate craft a long time ago back in 2014 under the username xX_S_h_a_d_o_w_Xx at the young age of 11. I was soon banned in 2015 after swearing at an admin and that was the end of it, I was super upset and unhappy about what had happened, so I tried to find new things to do, new servers to play. But they didn’t work… So, I stopped playing for about a month then came back and had forgotten my log-in information. So, I created a new account I named CrixMC and started playing Minecraft again, every day for hours upon hours. Then in 2017 at the age of 14 I decided to re-join PirateCraft and the adventures started again, I adventured and made new friends, I had great experiences and met great people.
Now in 2019, I only login every so often for the nostalgic feeling we all love and hate. I recently retrieved my older account Which is now called “JustDane” that I about about to rename “Crixton”, after I renamed “CrixMC” to “NotCrixton”. I recently got JustDane unbanned from PirateMC.
I will be using my old account as my main from now on, I understand one of my accounts will definitely be getting banned, in that case I would prefer to keep “JustDane” which is now “Crixton”, even though all the progress I had on there has been reset.I am okay with this decision and I’m not hiding it. I understand the consequences of Ban Evading and if I must be banned, I am ready to accept the punishment, I have had a great time on Pirate Craft and I appreciate all the people I have met and adventured with. If action could somehow be forgiven, I would appreciate being able to log in every now and then.
Thanks for your time
