The_Network is right that if you get rid of tpa, people will quit. It isn’t easy to sail from one end of the world to the other in a lagging ship. In another post about ship speed,Godsdead said ships would either be faster, but no one able to do anything, or you have the speed that we have now. In order to address the problem of no tpa, you would need faster ships, and then people would be standing still the whole time, and life would be kind of boring. I’m going to have to go with The_Network on this one.

We’re not going to remove tpa from the main server as there would be an outcry, this is why GodsDead is wanting to add a ‘no tpa’ server, in which everyone can’t tpa (surprisingly), and would encourage the use of the server plugins.

For more info, please search ‘tpa’, and I guarantee you will find 50 odd topics about it.

You also recite pretty much everybody’s same argument on how tpa can be improved and on how people imagine ship to ship fights.

As of right now, it is somewhat tpa’s fault, but is also down to people not always wanting their hardworked ship to be blown up by some invis, speed 2, depth strider, Rambo half swimming half skimming the surface with tnt and blowing that thing to smithereens before you can type an angry response in chat (which I assure you do).

People try encourage these battles by staging their own (like Max does which have been successful) and having the community enforce these non-existant rules in these battles, however there are the odd cases of people just wanting to cause misery and have, blown people’s ships taking part, apart. And we’re also lucky that this is a small minority and that most large pvp crews, whom are a real mix of the good, the bad and the ugly, are not to blame and actively support or leave the events well alone as they know that the response they would get would be more than the usual ‘hey’ every time someone’s chests get vacuumed up by them.

Its good to see new people with these views that they want to contribute something to the server already, and can already see the few, existing problems that are prevalent, however, removing tpa, despite how insignificant it may sound, potentially could cause a lot of the player base to leave and discourage future players.

@godsdead you still need to make that parrot at spawn say stuff ._.

Have some custom mobs around shops, spawn, and tutorials – instead of putting signs everywhere, get the player to click/interact with a mob named ‘cannoneer’ and they explain how to use them. People don’t like signs, but people like custom mobs.

Mobs selling those limited/special items at cove such as elytras? rather than in chests? Not sure if the plugins would work with one another

Theres no such thing as a fully automatic one, the machine does make it easier though. All it does is dispense bonemeal rapidly. You plant a sapling in front of the dispenser, and pistons are timed to push the grown tree’s wood into neat rows, which you can then cut.

Well, a lot of these people are also the “op” players that GodsDead wants to make less powerful. Also, a world reset would be a perfect time to reset the economy – this would accomplish another one of GodsDead’s goals by taking ALL of the money out of the economy.

Assuming these players have a lot of money, here’s what will happen:

• We start selling rare items at cove, so they will spend a good chunk of their money
• More rare items, until they have no choice but to sell some of their existing stuff
• More equal distribution of wealth, ‘OP’ players have stuff to show-off with, and money is taken out of the eco, win-win.

As for all this ‘money out of the eco’ – we’ve managed to take out at least 300k so far, so its going good. We don’t want to stagnate the eco with having no money, but less money means its value goes up, increasing the value of items. It’s already starting to level-off – we have many more players with moderate amounts of money, rather than just a few with almost all the wealth. We’re getting there 🙂
