Double cobblestone slabs, Mossy cobblestone, coarse dirt, cobblestone wall, melon block, pumpkin block, podzol, bone block. Quick ideas – basically i feel like all the “soft” blocks should be siegeable. 🙂

Cracked stone bricks, netherwart blocks, stone monster eggs (all varities), path blocks, farmland, string.

Though a bit extreme, you could also try adding crops to the siegable list.

    Stone Brick.
I think it’s obvious that was a joke.
I think cobwebs should be added to the list, as well as soul sand.

Hmm… A part of this server’s appeal, in my arrogant opinion, is that it is similar to factions, yet not based on gameplay. The BE would be completely different on a factions server, London would not be a homely, eccentric city, but a practical box.

I personally would prefer pirate-style domains then unseigable stone brick boxes, but including siegable cobble slabs and other soft blocks might make the latter much more appealing. Soft blocks are great for aesthetics, and to all soft blocks siegable would reduce their viability, in turn reducing the design and creativity on the server.

Do we want gameplay influenced strongholds, or authentic ports and castles?

TLDR: Soft blocks make houses look better, Making them siegable makes houses look worse.

We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

As a builder I agree its nice to be able to use more block varieties for bases but as a pvper I also want to be able to tear through someones base to kill everything I can poke a sword at! xD

I think the answer to this is to build yourself a fort and subclaim your base! You can have separate claims for your less defensible structures like towns/docks/farms etc, and if under attack run and hide in your big stone brick fort !

Basically everything I wanted to say. Double cobble slabs are useful for adding texture, and bone blocks are a good alternative to quartz. Meanwhile, cobblestone walls are also fantastic for windows and window frames.

I’m thinking sponge, ice (not packed, the normal stuff), snow, end stone, grass (tall and short), vines, and that’s about it.

few things..  for the soft blocks that make houses look nicer, yes, itll make it more difficult, BUT, people need to learn how to protect their homes better. it’s not easy, but possible to re-inforce the siegable blocks with non sieable blocks. most people are just lazy @#$%^&() and build stone boxes.

a lot of the other blocks would be interesting. netherwart blocks, all dirt variants (mycelium, podzol, tilled farmland, path block , and coarse dirt), vines, leaves [again died a little], maybe even wood stairs? debatable… also for the love of god, tall grass; the grass stalks in a field are the most annoying thing to deal with when pvping.

also…. can we add crafting tables to the list of siegable blocks?? 😀

If I had a nickel for every time I, Ooo hey, a butterfly!! *runs off chasing the butterfly*

We can have a discussion/tutorial on how to build securely while make a base appeasing to the eye in another forum. I think that would be a great idea. Also, I feel that any resource on the server that is considered rather expensive/not-renewable, such as sponge, beacons, and ores, should stay unbreakable. Everything on my suggested list is easy to get, and easy to replace.

@ae0, guess who’s rebuilding their shop walls because you said double Cobble slabs could never be sieged? Me! Also I think there should be a 1 month construction period so bases don’t become accessible as soon as the update happens, just my 99 cents

    I cried when I saw hay bales. I use those to block my chests ;_;

also with that long list of items, a lot of those are used in decoration, itll suck if someone decides they don’t really wanna get to you, and just wanna @#$%^&*() up your garden, or nuke your house that’s only there to look pretty. *coughshaycough*

I suggest that all types of dirt should be siegeable.

Examples: Coarse dirt, Path blocks, podzol.

(Dirt and grass are obviously already siegeable.)

Reason: I went to raid noob last night, and all of there chests were covered with coarse dirt. I couldn’t break it (even in siege), which in my opinion is just so stupid.

I also think that all blocks you can EASILY break with your fists should be siegeable.

(Even though beacans can be broken with your fist, it obviously shouldn’t be added.)

    Sincerly,

    River

P.S. Sowwy if I made some spelling errors, made this in a hurry.
