I was wondering the other day and I asked people the other day and they seemed positive about it.
If we were to hold an Annual Olympics or Hunger Games would anyone want to do it?
These are some of the points.– A Nation which would host this would need to have an arena or a stadium.
– A Nation would need to make the gear and stuff.
– A Nation would need to sign up people.
– A Committee would have to be drawn up.
– Prizes and other things would happen.
This is all I can think of right now and if anyone likes this idea please don’t hesitate to put a few comments and join the two new groups I will make called the Hunger Games Committee and Olympic Games Committee.

July 14, 2015 at 11:01 am #17388For the Hunger games we all know they would be randomly drawn from a list, but for the Olympics, you don’t sign up, you try out. so I am going more towards the Hunger games, 1 because I think it would be more fun, and 2 it would be a lot less of a hassle to set up.

A good idea for the hunger games thing would be to do it in a already made town just a suggestion
July 14, 2015 at 1:41 pm #17391i think for the hunger games (i like that better) that 2 people should be drawn up randomly from each major group (BE, EE, outlaws, etc.) and each group that has people chosen should contribute to waht is inside the chests (god gear, pots, etc.) also, should the hunger games be considered OP (god gear) or normal (no gapples, wood, stone, iron swords, all armor except diamond and unenchanted)?

-So if the dispenser drops a BE banner then the Olympics would be held their.But that would mean every participating national would need to build a stadium. I for one wouldn’t mind doing so.

I was thinking like we should first make a random thing but each nation or whatever which wants to host it should at least have time to build it prepare it and room to host it in so it will work without a rush.
We could possibly ask admins maybe that if people pay for certain things to be given to them they could fly over and drop it and if they could live stream in it and be invisible to watch it or we could make tracks over the arena for mine carts people could view over.
I dunno.
I was also thinking maybe not having chests hidden everywhere but maybe a few there and here with a few things in them but not loads (like maybe a stick in one, and apple in another etc.)
The plans and time would have to be put into the hunger games one as well as the Olympics one.
The Olympics one would be try out because each nation, team whatever would want the top players and also we would have to draw up events.
The first ones probably wont be brilliant as we would have to make a few events at first a possibly add to the list over time, Same for the Hunger Games one but we would have to put rules in different things to stop people back stabbing each other over petty conflicts.
i.e. one nation hates another and while competiting they start a war or people all attack the arena which again people would have to draw up plans in a situation like that.
July 14, 2015 at 6:52 pm #17397One thing to note, if it is a hunger games thing, how is anyone going to watch it, because the hunger games records all players constantly in the books/films. So what I as thinking, was that anyone who happens to be a Youtuber on the server, could be given permissions to go into Spectator mode Just for the events, and record it, and post it on their channel, I would be happy to do that, and we could make a forums post for it, so that each episode would be linked in it, and each person would have their own player(s) to follow or if there isn’t enough people to record them they could teleport using the Spectator mode teleport to player thing.
I think this would be a great thing to do in the Hunger Games and the Olympics.
Same goes for the Olympics as first paragraph because you would need to record different places in the event as it goes on.

And Rubinhub minigames are awesome, you should go on a minigames server and play them and you will grow to like them. And anyway this wouldn’t be a minigames, it would just be an annual, fun, friendly event for everyone on the server to enjoy, don’t get passed, if you don’t like it, don’t watch the videos if/when they come out.

July 14, 2015 at 8:01 pm #17403I think it would be easy to have a gladiator arena instead of hunger games.That way,we don’t have to use up too much space+we can all watch.
Also, it would be quite hard to create an Olympic stadium because what would we do for events? So at my new town, I will start to build a basketball stadium so people can throw snowballs threw the hoop(hopper) and that will set off lights all around the arena.
Unless anyone could think of an event and how it would function in minecraft, then I will just begin to build a gladiator and basketball arena.

July 14, 2015 at 8:37 pm #17406KingRS I think Hunger Games would be more fun to do rather than an Olympics, because the fun in watching it via youtube will do two things, enjoy the viewers, and if people watch the videos that aren’t on the server, they will join to watch and enjoy the games. And we could always do both, we could do the Hunger Games, and six months later do the Olympics, just so that people don’t have to wait an entire year to watch it again.
And as you said in the Olympic Games Commity,You would be happy doing multiple events, if you want to the VE could also do archery

Fencing= Sword fighting
Archery= Shooting targets
Running Races but with difficulty= Parkour (without potions)
Sailing Events= Fastest Dhow or Normal Boat time round a course wins
Animal Racing Events= Pigs and Horses (equestrian?)
Basket Ball= (if RS’s idea works.)
Those could be all i think of right now.
But in the hunger games we if we upload videos we should make sure to do it about 30 minutes later to stop possible competitors cheating using the video to know where people or places are.
And Rubihube if you do think these will be mini games well they sort of will be but it will only happen the once.
Also I think if people were to turn around and say gladiatorial arena what’s the point? /warp pvp…
Again Rubihube this could benefit you as you could sell goods such as your brews.
