    Last thing to add from me personally:

    People complain a lot that the likes of TAS and CLTN run the server – but they don’t exclusively. Yes, TAS have a lot of rich players, they can exert a lot of power on the economy, they have good connections to strong pvpers with which they can attack or defend others depending on if it’s in their interests.

    But in terms of activity, TAS are slowing down a bit as their members leave for uni, out of boredom, or other irl things. Just look at CLTN for example; 6 months ago they were a true force to be reckoned with having a very active crew consisting of pvpers. But now, you could say their glory days are over. This has and will make way for new crews to compete for the ‘we rule the server’ cup.

    There are usually 2 or 3 big crews that will at any one point be seen as the main ‘rulers’ of the server – whether that be controlling the eco, controlling land, or putting pressure on people by raiding them – and they usually don’t get along. 3 and a half years ago when I first joined, the Elven Empire and Red Lotus were the two main ‘big’ crews and fought each other; after a couple of months this changed to the British Empire and the Outlaws.

    Over time, crews such as the Elven Empire, Crusaders of the Void, Delta, Enigma, Verussian Empire, JuiceKings, Coalition, Templar, and Forsaken have all been in this ‘top 3’ at one point. Some were only there for a short time such as Delta, some were there much longer such as the British Empire. But after enough time, even the largest crews fall apart.

    In short, if you dream of running a huge empire-like crew spanning over the whole world, or just want to create an island to help deckhands; don’t be intimidated by these larger ‘more powerful crews’. I mean, if DEK and the new EM can do it, then anyone can do it.

    And the very last thing I’d like to say – thank you to DEK and several other growing crews who are recruiting deckhands like mad after they join. Its really nice to see, and gives them much more incentive to stay on and fight for you. Almost all of the large crews on this list started by recruiting every single deckhand they could find. Some left sure, but many more stayed and helped them grow. Last time i saw this scale of deckhand recruiting was 3 years ago while BE and EE competed for ‘who has the most members’.

    Its been 1 year and 6 months since the wonderful PaulOnFire made his own list back in January of 2017. Old list can be found -> here <-
    This list serves as a reference point, and comparison to the PMC of 1 year 6 months ago. I’ve tried to include as many crews as I can (I’m not doing all 243).

    Some key points before I start (very similar to Paul’s original post):

    1. This is based off data from the 16th July 2018. It is entirely possible that people have changed crews, come back from inactivity, or founded new crews in the meantime.
    2. The crews are ranked according to number of active players
    3. ‘Active players’ count as any players that were active in the last 30 days
    4. Some crew descriptions from the last list have been carried forward, as long as they are still relevant and/or the exact same crew
    5. I have tried to avoid 1 or 2 man crews, such as my own, and will only be including a few that are of mention
    6. The crew names are spelt as they are in-game, including typos and spacing issues. I might have types some of the player names wrong, but please don’t rip my head off because of that.
    7. There are a LOT of crews I don’t know anything about. Feel free to post more information below!

    • Terminology (these are my definitions, not official ones):
      • ‘Empire/Kingdom’ – A generally peaceful crew with anti-pirate intentions; featuring a distinctive government or leadership system, split into mostly the ruling class, generals and officials, and common folk
      • ‘Empire – esque’ – A generally peaceful crew with characteristics of empire crews, but who give more control to the non-leaders, or have a completely separate system. These are usually considered pretty chill crews.
      • ‘Collective crew’ – A crew with mixed intentions, whereby almost every member has an input in running the crew. There isn’t much in the form of hierarchy – mostly group decisions.
      • ‘Pirate crew’ – A crew with either anti-empire crew intentions, stealing and pillaging, or working as hired mercenaries. They are usually the smallest crews, but are seen as the greatest threat to peace for empire crews. There are some exceptions.
      • ‘Mafia crew’ – An organized international body of criminals that work together to achieve common goals.
      • If it just says ‘crew’ then the crew either doesn’t fit any of those descriptions above, or I just don’t know. I don’t want endless terms used; that can wait for another post :I

    Thank you for the response, but I’m having trouble understanding how player owned shops backfired. I know they got camped and people were killed, possibly raided, but that is part of the server, not a place where people can have a 100% safe shop to buy from. Many people shopped at saraphim’s island, but there was killing and fighting there, but I don’t think it stopped customers from going there.

    What? How are you struggling with this? we have many posts on the website already explaining it.

    • VERY VERY Confusing for new players as to why a player owned a warp.
    • Complete monopoly for the player that owned the warp, literally the entire Economy belonged to them.
    • Nothing was automated,
    • No shops were auto reverted
    • No tax was taken OUT of the economy, it just ended up in another players hands.
    • There is NOTHING stopping you from starting your own shopping are, literally there is NOTHING stopping you.
    • The build team was suppose to be re-doing parts of the market one at a time. I’m still waiting for the last one I requested to be finished/started.
    • We literally had player owned warps for YEARS. We have done it, We know how it works. The issues that came from it were incredible and wasted 95% of staffs time with bullshit that came from a player owned warp.

    I cannot even fathom the stupidity from your bullet points:

    Player shops would probably be built near warps (north, south, etc.)

    EXACTLY, we don’t want you assholes making a mess of warps, that’s WHY we have a /warp shop, THE EXACT thing you are asking to remove, you are contradicting your own “idea”.

    New players would be told to go to a shop near a warp (I plan on making a marketplace soon near warp north)

    You plan on breaking the rules? if you start building outside warps for your own greedy selfish benefit to earn money without paying to use a warp then you can go down the punishment route.

    This thread has nothing of worth, its just you not being able to use your brain and listen to people.

    Yeah this idea has been thrown about a lot in the past. We used to have player owned warps, but that backfired tremendously.

    As Godsy said, nothing is stopping you making your own shop – find a town with lots of active people in it, and ask to set up a small shop there. You should make a healthy amount of money, while paying (hopefully) no money! Its in the interest of any town owner to attract players to open shops.

    Before /warp shop was added, (one of) the main trading places was Aeos Island – the shops on there remained active and still attracted players well after warp shops was added. Its downfall was that many veteran players who owned shops there did not continue advertising their shop there. There is nothing stopping you from creating your own island, get loads of people to open shops, charge really low or no rent (to attract shops), and watch the money poor in. It’ll be up to you to keep your island’s shoppers safe.

    Okay so It gave me option of what to choose hacking cheating etc I choose Harrasment

    but I haven’t filled out a report in years so I didn’t know if I was suppose to remove the options that were given in the original document so I left it. 2ndly It was not only that if your staff and look up the chat between 2 players it will pull up a log conversation between the two zeroing in on any specific conversations they may have had or mabey they don’t have that here in piratecraft but I would be surprised if they didn’t. I have been harassed in private chat more than you know. You may not see it in global but Don’t think that my report is unjustified and weak or pathetic or someone just being butthurt.  I didn’t belive in cyber bulling until now and I don’t like what is happening and I’m trying to put a stop to it the only way I know how. So excuse me if I don’t get the report information 100 percent correct and you only see half of it since the other half is redacted and you do not have Acess to it. So just chill and let staff Cosmic and I work it out and don’t post comments about a subject you have no or very little understanding off.

    also lmao? Cheating and hacking are the same thing, and they both imply using a hacked client so I don’t know why you had to say it twice plus specify “using a hacked client”, secondly where’s the proof for all these accusations?

    I believe those are the main categories that you can choose from for reports that are listed in the template, therefore he selected harassment and put it in parentheses before the list.

    The addition of airships would be interesting. But does not at all help the server in anyway.

    Your point is to implement a craft which is better than ships in almost every way, due it being able to move in the positive y-axis and so make the use of movecraft boats inferior/pointless. So I don’t see that as a benefit.

    Your point about ship to ship battles is true, however I think airship to airship battles will be rarer. Due to the fact people will have to be looking for something incredibly small in the sky, fly to it and hopefully catch up to it. No I don’t think this will occur like some sort of spaceship mmo, there are no resources in the sky, and tpa/home/warp will always be quicker to transport large amount of stores safely.

    Dropping bombs will be the death of the server, people will grief like there is no tomorrow and will make the server EXTREMLY laggy, cannons right now are the way to go. In regards to your argument’s example, I’ll just mention claim protection and promptly destroy it. :/

    Your argument about sky bases is sound. However I don’t exactly like the appeal of sky bases honestly, and then people getting pissy about ‘so and so building a sky base near mine’. Your point about the Pirates (traditionally anyway) is wrong- they’re married to the sea, not the sky.

    Making airships accessed before boatswain will remove their value by MILES, I’m sure you just want this also due to not having boatswain rank. I will also give the point that if people did ALL start using the movecraft plugin at once, the server will indubitably lag.

     

    Anyway, I’m bored of responding to a request and points and reasons we’ve all see and heard before. If your going to say anything about boats right now, talk about how we could improve them- after reading through the thousands of topics on the same things. Its a circular argument.

    Hey MAB/SGB, thanks for the introduction, its always amazing to me that family’s play together, I love that.

    I have a vague memory of removing an iron farm, just a cheaply made cobble box?

    No rules it was very simple, A long term player made a report that someone else had somehow claimed his build and he had no idea how that was possible, we chalked it up to a bug we had in Nov 2017 where claims were being overwritten from some of the very first claims ever made.

    [bug] Resolved. 752+ Claims got overwritten.

    We confirmed he built it and I simply gave him his building back, thats it. Nothing more too it. you wont get notified of Claims being removed as that would require 50x more time to process the thousands of claims we need to manage, and would be utterly absurd waste of time. We have MANY forms of comunication. Forums, Discord Private messages to staff, Teamspeak, Social media. This is why they exist, you make a ticket if you have an issue.

    You wouldn’t have lost any claim blocks as I removed it, when players remove them they loose a % of claim blocks, so they would have gone back into your pot.

    Whats done is done, and this was done months ago? No point arguing over a cobble stone box now is there.

    I will leave this open in-case im remembering another claim dispute and have got the wrong event in my head.

      I don’t know if you follow any news, but 1.13 is about to drop any day, there no changes happening as its pointless. I have said this already in that post, read the post, and READ what I have said I have been working on for weeks.

      1. “Host a pot pvp tourny with ig prizes” Oh what like we have been doing, we have a whole server dedicated to PvP and an entire new tournament plugin coming soon. “More events” Go on then, build something worth while. “More events” how vauge could you possible be, do you even know the time and effort it takes to build these? Months, many months.
        New ranks, what? we just added new ranks, I dont.. what? how is this even relevant? or even an idea.
      2. “pvp practice arena” we literally have a PvP practice arena server, what is wrong with you.

    First of all, there plenty of people still play (up to 30) at a time. Also about 1/5 of the active members are donors. Nearly everytime i log on there are between 1-6 donors. Also your ideas won’t draw people back to the server. Because when people quit they ussually don’t keep track of the server news anymore. I suggest people advertise the server more on websites like minecraftservers.org because on these websites even good but not very popular servers like this will show up at the top of the list of all servers on the website. Also on minecraftservers.org and other server finding websites if you donate to the website your server will get listed at the top of page and is listed in a special section. Many people don’t know about this server and i’m pretty sure that if people did know they would come to this server. It’s just my “2 cents”

    i’m confused about the no building outside of, on top of or underneath worlds. How do you go out of the world what does it mean, ex: can i build a sky base in the overworld or end, build underground in any diamension or building under a end island
