None of these ideas are new, there is already a no teleport thread from 2015 that I stared and I solved it with how we would do it, please continue your no teleport ideas in there!
This is not the time or place to be talking about an entirely new server, I’m updating with what has been working.
Ive had a plan for the last 7 years how I would do this and it’s all planned and already explained in old thread’s, but I’m yet to catch a break in 7 years to have time to build a second no teleport server with how I’ve deisnged it, as we’re constantly having things happen on the main server and itself got infinite suggestions and improvements to make, let alone even get updated!
The plan is to do no tp as its own seperate new server so we can reset it and change drastic settings on the fly without disrupting the current working solid version of PirateCraft.
V1 of PirateCraft was no teleport, we have already done this before so I know the shortcomings.
That is indeed correct, it would make teleporting like that awful, However, with slight changes (I.E no teleporting with weapons, explosives, armour items in bulk etc etc) it could work if given some thought and work into it
For example making a big port for traders at the shops
Making certain help for non official stores like better claims, or something that makes pvp disabled in a region.
basically helping the community be a little bit less reliant on the filthy rich and actually having some kind of goal with ships and stuff other than-
“hey I heard you can buy rly cheap wood at /shop 7”
“Really? Lemme go there real quick and sell it at the opposite end of the world in like 3 minutes because i have a tp there”
See, if any mods, admins, helpers, etc etc are reading this then I just want to say that this would give quite a big meaning to the word “pirate” Cause, well…. unless you really put lots of interest in it theres not much to do that fits the point and meaning of piratecraft, sure, you can raid ships and do stuff like that but that is rare, FORCING people to go on ships would result in a lot more of the cool and unique features of PC to be used.
Hellon Augustus told me to explain everything I told him so i will do it : It took me 2 weeks to join piratecraft because i needed a proxy because i cannot play minecraft in my college, its blocked. I usually use free proxys or a vpn to connect to internet or video games. I use free proxys in france / belgium / germany / and sometimes United states. And for my paid proxys i don’t usually choose i let the vpn choose for me. I can voice chat if you guys want so i can proove I am me.

I am sorry about that, but…. it’s Piratecraft. Pirate is in the name, so pirating things is the name of the game….. stealing completely legal on the server, and staff doesn’t replace items.

A lot of players use PvP and general improvement packs. There are many packs that improve gameplay and add features such as as fullbright with Optifine, low fire, and CITs for armor and swords. Now, many CIT packs have been used and allowed on PMC before. One such pack was Elo’s. It gave custom textures to different named armor. And keep in mind a lot of the players and veterans from back then used these packs. So unless the CIT pack rules on this have changed since 2019 (they haven’t), this should be fine.
Now, the rule that is being brought up is Rule 3 under the “Glitching, Resource Pack and Client Rules”. The rule states, “Resource packs that give you any sort of advantage in PVP are forbidden.” Now, one could argue that Elo’s Pirate Crews pack could give some unfair advantage in PvP since different named armor (like Daedric, Ebony, etc) had custom textures. But staff never had an issue with this. Some people might even argue that low-fire or shortened sword textures give an “advantage” because not every single player has one. Even the new PirateCraft texture pack has CITs for event and different weapons. So to say that what VOID is doing is illegal is a bit of a stretch.
The issue that I’m seeing is that perhaps different staff members have different interpretations of what this rule means. The rule is actually quite subjective, so it’s easy to see why this can be confusing. In a similar way, players might receive mixed responses from staff about using Schematica on the server (though that is an issue for another day). In all honestly, I believe that as long as a pack falls within the parameters of being a pretty standard PvP pack and not giving actual pvp hacks like KillAura, or anti-kb, it should be fine. Additionally, everyone should always be using either Vanilla or Optifine. No game-changing pvp advantages can be attained unless you use another client.
If anything, ping and lag have much more of an effect on pvp than texture packs. Having either a really low or really high ping gives you certain “PvP advantages” that are actually way more impactful than a CIT pack. There are likely pvpers on PMC who use net limiters and regedits. It’s technically legal, and untraceable either way. Again, this stuff effects PvP much more than texture packs. So I don’t think we should be obsessing about what constitutes a “PvP advantage”.

This is disturbing to hear, especially since IronAR is an active staff member. Having a resource pack that gives ANY sort of advantage in PvP is widely known to be illegal on PirateCraft. More disturbing is that IronAR is known to push the boundaries of what is legal, as he tried balance draining me with a sign after GodsDead declared it to be illegal.
I also remember when he would use a grapple hook to kill new players at cove…

Also, IP grabbers are not illegal. It’s not much different than having Caller ID enabled on your cell phone when getting a call. When you navigate the internet, your IP will be collected. Use a VPN service if you think you need an extra safety cushion!

Hello! I have decided on a name for my city. It will be called Vána Selanda, or Vana Senda for short. As I expand the city I will be hosting a “find the purple window” event where everyone will race around to find a singular glass window in the whole city.
Also, I am naming every street and dividing the city into districts. So far I have given these names to players who have been kind to me in the past, or early members in SLNT. The city is so big though that I need a lot more names. My question for you all: what names do you have that could work well as street/district/house names. I am giving each house a specific name along with a safety rating and a value rating based on a few factors. My ultimate goal is to have this in a book with all the real estate in it.

On the 18/19th of February, you reported to me that your shop had partially been world edited and from what I could tell, it was an easy fix but I took the time, just before my shift at work to properly report to staff what happened.
From what I can tell, the worth of your shop was less than 2k – not trying to make the problem less significant, but it’s low on the priority list with all the shop upgrades and behind the scenes staff moderation that goes on.
On the 2nd/3rd of March you contacted me again asking politely for a response for your shop to which I again asked you to put something on the forums and I bumped it again in staff chats.
What I’m trying to say is that the shops can only be edited by people who have full time jobs and lives outside of PirateCraft, and this is a volunteer role – we do not bend over backwards for donators, we appreciate that you do but it does not give you a free pass to complain and expect something to be done immediately.
I am asking you to be patient and respectful of the time that we have already (myself included) given for you and if you cannot handle having the staff team make mistakes/be slow with responses especially during covid-19 then I suggest you move on from the server. I am sorry you have become this angry and I would love to see it resolved but nothing important can be solved through anger/bitterness.
