Which installation should I use for piratecraft?

I’ve tried the latest update, but the server hasn’t been updated so it was suggested to me to use 1.2.3, but that is crashing minecraft whenever I load it up. Any advice?

1.12.2, you should be able to use 1.14.4 on our 1.12.2 server tho.
