Since Ive been away the server has decided (Without any recent changes) to start playing wonky games with us.
We usually sit around 400mb-1000mb ram use on a busy night, and somehow are on 2500mb-3k which will be causing lag issues some have reported. This sadly is a game of trial and error to find the culprit, Diagnosis show 3 main contenders at present, but it isnt as black and white as just disableing something, I wish it was.
For now I have disabled battlearena as one of the main contenders that we can live without, I will keep an eye on resource use and see what happens. I am in talks with the host for any recent changes.
Also I have added WorldGuard to replace out current Claim/Region Flag system, and give us many new options in-game. So if there are any conflicts with how the game mechanisms, mobs, or terrain etc works then please tell me as this could conflict with griefprevention.
November 4, 2014 at 10:22 pm #5353Not sure if it’s at all connected or just bad timing; but every time I warp to shop my client lags to the point that I can’t speak and freezes my entire client; until I log out. The first time this happened it dc’d everyone from the server
Could just be timing, but maybe it’s a clue!
November 5, 2014 at 1:04 pm #5358Ok one of the main problems that I figured out is that our hosts scheduler is broken, that deals with auto restarting the server for me, so the server at present stays on for longer than 6 hours and needs to be manually rebooted. This is a massive pain in the ass.
