Server Down

At around 10:30 am EST the server began to experience severe lag for an extended period of time. Buttons opened doors for longer than 2 mins, stuff like that.

I logged out for a bit, then checked the map around 12:30 EST, and it displayed a black screen. The server is listed as Offline on the website.

Doing a quick ping of mc.piratemc.com at 1:10 pm EST, Windows was unable to resolve the hostname.

Thank you @arinthros I have been aware of the bad performance from the host over the last 3-4 days, I have opened up many tickets and am still waiting on a reply to why this is happening, it seems to be an ongoing issue, its not the server itself, as when I get a response from the console our TPS is high 19-20 tps during these lag spikes, so im thinking its a network issue, maybe a faulty router, firewall or something.

Just so people are aware, I am alerted the second the server is down for 1 minute, I have been for years, I have 2 separate systems that monitor PirateCraft uptime, so that I can always try and get the server back up as soon as possible, sadly when things are out of my hands I just have to wait for the host to fix whatever happening, and open tickets with them.

This is a massive shame as we were on 99% uptime, completely butchered that! 🙁

@arinthros Since you understand how to ping the server, I have a task for you, when the server next hits its slow patch please can you save a trace route to the server via mc.piratemc.com and our direct IP: 37.59.200.65:25877

This is information I can pass onto the host for diagnosing issues.

4:20pm EST we got hit with a major lag spike. At 4:30pm EST the server went down.

@godsdead – Sorry hadn’t read this until the server was down. When I run it to the subdomain & port I get an error. Running just the IP I get some results, which I’ll PM you. Next time lag spikes I’ll run a tracert before the server goes down.
