Sandstone Ship Topic Closed?

I created a topic asking if sandstone blocks could be added to the available blocks for ships so I could use sandstone rather then stonebricks and well…the reply I got made it feel like I was basically being called an idiot? Atleast that’s the way it seemed. Sandstone is a common building material in real life and you can even look it up. Sandstone is a type of rock and in Minecraft, it’s one of the more versatile blocks. I never once asked for actual SAND, to be allowed on ships because that just sounds a bit ridiculous. If we’re talking realism, then you’re playing a game where everything’s blocks and well, people use obsidian for their ships…I’d say that’s also a bit unrealistic and well, if anything, more unrealistic then sandstone being used.

I’m guessing the admins just don’t want ships to be able to have sandstone blocks. Not many people would use sandstone on ships either since its texture doesn’t fit in with a ship as well as the repeating patterns of wood or stone bricks

maybe its becuase so when you’re next to an island thats floating you dont make it and travel island some how….

That depends on your texture pack and well…this game is all about creativity, so why shouldn’t sandstone be allowed for a ship? I also don’t quite understand what you mean by “repeating patterns”. Normal sandstone blocks always look the same from what I’ve seen and because of the different kinds of sandstone blocks, you got variety like you do with quartz blocks and stonebrick blocks. There’s really no logical reason why it shouldn’t be allowed that I can find. I didn’t even get a reason behind why it shouldn’t be allowed from Godsdead . :/ He seem to expect me to know the answer and mentioned normal sand blocks, when I said NOTHING about sand.

@Solid – I haven’t seen many floating sandstone islands. Sandstone is typically found UNDER normal sand such as in desert biomes. Plus by that logic, shouldn’t wood blocks be removed? Don’t want to accidentally move some trees like in swamps for example.

why don’t you just edit some textures on blocks to look like sand stone so your happy.
