Indeed. I fail to understand why people like you are able of consciously lying about their gender to those they call their friends.

I am sure that is not the only thing you lied about.

However, I would be completely OK with it if one wishes to be of the opposite gender in real life, because those people are genuinely not feeling right about the way they are, but you just seek attention you would not receive as a boy.

It is sickening actually and I hope you are really ashamed of yourself.

I do not think you understand me.

Of all things, I am not trying to hurt you. May that be clear! I simply cannot stand liars.

Instead, you should see all this as a useful piece of advice! People do not like it too much when they are being lied to.

Like I said before, it changes my opinion drastically when you’d actually rather be female irl. If that is the case, I am sorry!

However, I have noticed that many people in games, especially minecraft, pretend to be women to make the younger male players behave in a certain way which they would not do when around boys. Those younger lads tend to easily ‘fall in love’, which makes life for the ‘girls’ a lot easier…

I believe it is wrong to exploit people like that.

I hope you get the point now!

I was on vacation recently and I’m very confused about all of this but my opinion is that 1) this is the internet, why can’t rep be whatever gender he/she (still really confused ’bout that) wants to be and why does it matter if rep lies, its the internet, you can’t expect the truth. And 2) why does this matter! who cares what gender rep is! I sure don’t!

You’re all complaining that rep is creating too much drama when you are the guys making a mountain out of a mole hill!

I have always been taught lying is a bad thing. It doesn’t matter for me if that is irl or online.

Also, why would you behave differently on the internet than you would in real life? To answer a question that is bound to be asked (“Are you a pirate that lives in an Indian village in real life too then?”): I am not talking about that. It’s behaviour and ability to lie I am referring to.

Sure, it is okay to roleplay, but there are limits.
