The reason for the recent downtime is because my hosting provider decommissioned the server hardware that PirateCraft was hosted on, I had little time to react as they sent me the email at 21:50 Thursday night! Only 2 days later they took down the PirateCraft, Assured from the email it would take 60 Minutes maximum to transfer over data to the server server and here we are 2 days late with no live server, No new IP, I can’t login to any control panel/FTP , totally locked out.
I have been in a very long ticket conversation with support but their unprofessional answers & lack of support and communication is starting to worry me.

I am still waiting for a reply.

thats really not acceptable, i hope they let you off a months subscripition at the least!

good job GTA V is here otherwise id be screwed lol

The worse thing is that when I finally regain control, I still have all the admin tasks to update plugins, website, SRV DNS settings for the subdomain, notify all users and re-advertise and update all existing places I have advertised with the new IP.

The mc.piratemc.com never seemed to work, apparently I set it up wrong (On guidance from namecheap) bloody ass hats, I predicted a shitstom like this would happen and tried to protect myself, even that fell through.
I think I fixed the mc.piratemc.com without having to use a port number on it, so when the IP does get delivered to me I can set that to the sub-domain and hope it runs.

So im just sitting here waiting for replies, I have messaged them on their minecraft forums thread to try and get their attention, so unprofessional.
I have had nothing but problems with them.

Maybe I should look at other hosts?

To add to it all, The idiots that decided to upgrade minecraft to 1.6.4 fixed nothing that needed fixing and added nothing at all, apart from having to wait for bukkit to play catch up again.

The 1.6.4 entire change log:

Edit: Turns out the bug they fixed was the one that we got hacked with, people being able to force OP privileges.

i think with the recent server issues a new host may be something to look inot at some point, how much longer will it be down?

Were now back up and running, I think my many postings had an impact.
mc.piratemc.com should work now and our new direct IP is 188.165.46.86:25565

We now use the default minecraft port so 188.165.46.86 should work too, hopefully.

I still get “cannot reach server” now and then in my server list.
Now to contact my web host to allow the new server through their firewall, that was a massive pain to setup.

haha typical, this just seems to get worse and worse. I think we defo need to look at other options, i know that may bump up the fees but would be more beneficial to have a more stable server.

I am in contact with the admin, he just needs help setting up his subdomain like I have got here! Its very tricky to get right, as I know from cocking it up.

Does mc.piratemc.com resolve properly now? or does it still time out?
