Obtaining a town marker icon on the map

I created a group dedicated to listing all cities, ports and towns on the PirateCraft server.
I thought it would be useful to have a clear list 🙂

If you, Gods and Reaper, think this is a good idea I would like to assign you two as admins of this group.
In that way you, when the time arrives, can more easily grant City Statuses for example!

I like it, we need a place to apply for city status, and then once your in, youn make it on the list with info on your coords etc.

Maybe I should look into being able to add more information to groups, like create proper group pages you can list information and add images/videos etc? Like I have pages on the website, that would be good for this settlements page.

So, just asking, will this ever be implemented? As for registering for it, I think that that should be done via this forum, but I agree with improved group forums.

I tried the addition for the groups, but its a mess and broken, so we will stick to the forum, I could sticky the thread, and applicants could reply to this thread, write up an application form, something like.

– Rules
1. Has to be claimed by the applicant
2. Needs its own group
– Application Information

[username]

[group members & roles]

[founded date]

[description]

[status (for applicant & building)]

[group name]

etc etc

I think that we all need only one icon for a town, for example: if it’s located on the mainland it may have a particular icon on the map, and if it’s a port town, then it should have a different marker. Also: I think beacons are overrated and extremely difficult to acquire, which may postpone a fully functional and beautiful town from actually becoming a town in your sense for months or weeks.

Also: these are all great ideas, but has anyone actually discussed this with Iamthereaper or GodsDead?

P.S. – Err… perhaps we can do something: and this might seems a little far feteched, but perhaps, the claims on individual towns should be different colors, instead of everyone being the same red, so then you can litterally see the towns grow, eventually turning into Empires, and we could have situated borders that would appear on the map. This would certaintly boost the RP element and War element in the game, rather then just random raids.. “for the succesful pirate never strikes without reason, even if that reason is no reason at all: there is always a greater purpose.”- Cpt. Also, this would help us a lot to differentiate from one another on the live map.

Yes different coloured claims are possible! It’s username based, so any claims form that specific user, but the problem is its a manual edit in the configs and only takes effect after a restart, so not very practical.

I have thought it over before, as Ive seen many servers use this type of things with factions etc, but then I realized there is no need, you concour the land you want, people can use their claim blocks together to take over a large piece of land etc.
