Minecraft updated to 1.8 last night/today, if you upgraded this could be an issue. Try refreshing the server list.

And if you are having network issues please try Googles DNS. https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

I just switched to Google DNS and am still unable to connect to the server.

make sure its mc.piratemc.com if this doesnt work Try the direct ip.

The direct ip being 37.59.200.65 right? If so it did not work either.
