Hello Piratecraft,
Today I have a nifty little trick that can help you create realistic cannons in single-player, no download/installation at all! Hope you enjoy 😀
1.) in order to get the command block, you will need to use this command
/give (player name) minecraft:command_block
2.) Build your cannon! I prefer to use a common style that is useful for 1 deck brigs and schooners. It also looks realistic, and you really can’t beat that
3.) Once you finish the actual setup, you are going to insert this code. The link to the .txt file will be below. Depending on the Direction you face your cannon, the code will vary. (check direction by using alt +f3, or fn + f3)
East – /summon PrimedTnt ~4 ~ ~ {Fuse:5,Motion:[5.0,0.5,0.0]}
West – /summon PrimedTnt ~-4 ~ ~ {Fuse:5,Motion:[-5.0,0.5,0.0]}
South – /summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~4 {Fuse:5,Motion:[0.0,0.5,5.0]}
North – /summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~-4 {Fuse:5,Motion:[0.0,0.5,-5.0]}
4.) That is pretty much it, you can wire multiple together with simple redstone mechanics and make a total broadside. Have fun!

Note: None of this is my original idea, found it on online sources 😀 no credit for me
