The problem is that many people don’t understand how incredibly hurtful it is to use the word “retarded” in a derogatory context.

As a community, we should be discouraging the use of that word.  I hear it far too often in chat, even from players whom I generally respect.

Think about how what you say affects others, and say something when you hear players being disrespectful.

It’s sad how many times I have been called retarted in the past…

And yesterday when I was telling people to stop making stupid remarks at me they were saying this was the wrong place to get help.

I wasn’t trying to get help.

I was trying to escape.

I don’t care in the slightest for people that decide to insult the server, despite being new and having no clue about what it’s like. Also, the word “ignorant” is not a synonym for “rude”. By the sounds of it, the people online were rude, but not ignorant. Ignorant means “lack of knowledge”. If I called a overweight person “fat”, I wouldn’t be ignorant because they really are “fat”. But I’d be very rude.

Go back and read my comment. I already stated it sounds like the people online were pretty rude, but I don’t care in the slightest for the newbie because he decided to insult the server. Also, I couldn’t care less about your negative words towards me, so why would I care when I first started?
