Can't connect?

When I attempted to log on today, my server list says that it “can’t resolve hostname” and when I try to log in it says “unknown host.” However the website says, that server is online and that players are playing on it right now. Do you know what might be the issue?

try resrating you’re browser also check you’re date and hour incase its wrong.

hmm, thats really weird. I cannot connect for some reason. I tried to restart game; it didn’t help. Does anyone from staff have any idea what is going on?

Could be the specific connection between the server and your computer, OR it can be your actual connection. I have the same situation now, the problem being the second possibility.

I'm just a sweet ol' grandma tryna understand wtf I just read.

That might be the case as I am now connected to different WIFI at different location then ever before. The interesting thing is though, that I can connect to any other server (or at least ones I tested it at), but I can’t connect to piratecraft…. :/

For some bizarre reason this is has been a problem for ever, Nobody knows why and its irritating, I think its got to do with the custom DNS we have setup.

If the issue consists at the location it wasnt working, cant you try connecting withe the direct IP and see if this solves the issue?

I want to move to a larger server at some point, when I do Im going to request the default minecraft port 25565 that way I wont need to do any magic on the url.

@godsdead Woah, first news I’ve heard of getting a larger server! That’d be so mega awesome! If there is anything at all I can do to help in any way, please let me know!

@michty I’ve had that problem too, and I usually just restart my computer altogether and it returns to normal 😛
