i know that there is no way on our current bounty system for us to get accumulative bounties, which is such a shame.

but i believe ive come up with something to make that could give bounties a bit of a use.

i know this will be full of holes and might need a little debugging.

but is there any way, that if a bounty is claimed, that person gets jail time based on there bounty. this way we give the bounty system some use. if some one does something bad they will get punished.

this will also stop people from just taking there friends bounty and splitting it with them.

simple system of 1 minute jail for every £1 up to say £30 then do it as an additional 1minute for ever £5, over £100 additional 1minute for every £10 ect.e.g. £50 get 30minutes for £30, plus 4 for £20, total 34 minutes.

plus make it so they have to be online for there timer to go down, that way they cant just log out for an hour then get back on.

if accumulation is ever added to this it would make it more interesting, the more people you annoy the longer your in jail.

This actually sounds awesome and since i like to place bountys it sounds even better for me.
However i think you overdo it.
We don’t want people to give up on the server because they have to stay in prison for 120 minutes remaining because they annoyed the wrong person one time, maybe lowering the prisontime would be good.

However i totally support this idea and if i wasn’t completly lazy i would search and post a seal of aproval here.

I think it should be in monetary brackets.
- Low cost bounties, such as minimum (i think 20$?) gets you like 5-10 minutes of jail-time.
- Mid cost bounties get you 15-20 minutes, such as up to 50-75$ bounties.
- A high cost (more than 75$) would get you 30 minutes of jail-time. This would be the maximum. However, if you piss off multiple players, you could end up in jail a lot for increments of 5 up to 30 minutes, assuming your bounties are hunted quickly.
Now the big decision here is where to house them? We have a jail in Cove, that’s a good place but you can kill people in jail at Cove using the jail torture features. This means if you go to jail it’s instant death, a friend could come and kill you to set you free.

Ways to stop this:
- We can either make the torture devices just as fun but less lethal by making it an egg shooter or something.
- We can make the Jail just respawn you there until you run out of jail-time; which could help with exploits like /trapped etc (not sure if that’s even usable in the first place)

As I told in the other topic, this suggestion would need a plugin allowing it and I couldn’t find one at the moment (and it would need testong, approval of gods, …) so that’s just a suggestion, not something that may happen soon.

The current jail system disable any command and item use and respawn you in the jail as long as you didn’t do your time. After the jailtime, you’re teleported where you were standing before being jailed.
There’s multiple jails around the server (The Cove, Spawn area, Spawn ship).

Last thing: allowing any new player to place a bounty and to potentially jail a random player for some time is something to avoid. That’s why, in my initial suggestion, I was only considerint jail time could be added to high bounties (£100 and above).

Exactly what @Machi said.

I would prefer a system where Heads have to be actually delivered to claim a bounty, Oldschool style.

I can’t think of a way of making this without a custom plugin.

I could go for the idea of only high bounties awarding jailtime. It would mean either the player would have to be pretty rich, work really hard for it, or multiple players would have to collectively add funds to get someone jailed.

If so I think the time spent should be longer than the vote jailtime, because it’s not just a joke it’s revenge! Perhaps even a custom message “You must have really made someone mad! They have paid a high bounty for you to be imprisoned for the next 10 minutes!”

I also really like the heads idea, that’s fantastic, maybe have a booth in cove where you turn in heads (perhaps with a villager NPC behind)?

ok how about a booth at the cove were you turn in the head to get the bounty. We bracket the times based on there bounty.

we could also set up multiple jails, and it send you to the closet one, just so it gives towns another building they can build.

Alright then, time for fun. This is probably a lot of work though. Make handcuffs that you can use on a player (takes a few seconds to put on.) And guillotines. Come on, can you imagine capturing a pirate and loppin off his head with a guillotine, giving you the head to claim the bounty? As for the handcuffs, a timer starts which gives you time in which you can’t tp, and when time is up you “picked” the lock and off with everyones head except your own! If you disconnect you drop the stuff you have as well.
