Ahoy ya blistering barnacles!

I have some not so good news but it’s not entirely bad either, more of middle news?

So it has come to a point where i hardly have the time to run this competition single handedly, i’m barely on MC as it is. Life i’m afraid is zapping a lot of time.
Which means this competition needs a big shake up and as mos tof the staff are occupied with a million other things, this means that it is time to get you the community involved and doing some “dirty work”.

Ideally i am looking for a team of 5 for now, who has the inspiration and creativity to keep this competition interesting and alive, i will still be involved but more taking a side step as i will be doing other projects which may need staffing too.

What i am really looking for in a team is;
- Creativity
- An eye for photography
- Reliability
- Teamwork
- Inspiration
- Initiative
- Trustworthy
- + Anything else amazing you can throw at me
You will recieve:
- Your very own Rank
- Ability to Fly
- Possible few other perks
Ideally your machine should be able to run Shaders smoothly and you are capable of using Photoshop at least.

For reference i use Zeus shaders Ultra DOF with Chroma Hills Texture, this seems to chuck out some nice standards.
I ahve quite a beasty machine so i can get stable FPS even in high density areas.

Naturally this is only a small porportion but hopefully you get the idea and understanding. For the time being i am looking at who would be interested in becoming i guess “staff”.
If the interest for this is very low then i ahve no choice than to close the competition indefinitely.

Count me in! I do web design & branding full-time, so I know how to work my way around Photoshop. I’m also really keen on seeing BOTM be a huge deal here. We have some amazing builders on the server.

Yeah sign me up , my pc hasn’t let me down yet (famous last words) and I would love to keep this competition going as I feel it’s a great way to broadcast true Minecraft building talent.

well I use a laptop and have terrible internet connection (for reasons I cannot say) and I will look into the shaders but I will definitely be able to get some texture packs or a texture pack to use on the server.

yet my build will be small it’s clever and compact and is a boat so i’m sort of in for the small, clever and reliable class?

I dunno but I need to edit it some bit but yes if its not good enough i’ll make something better but count me in.

I think what SuperGL is saying, is he is looking for photographers for the competition, people to take high quality pictures of other peoples applications, youll only recieve fly for this purpose, and not for helping you build or anything else.

I thnik to save wasting any time, if you were to post a High Quality, Artistic “photo” of a build fromt he server in this post, youll show your true colours and abilities, and will certainly speed up The selection for the role.

Haven’t gotten shaders working yet – forge is incompatible with 1.8.6 🙁
Here are a few quick shots of my Berghof build – in progress.

I should also mention that I’m a WordPress pro, so if you need someone to run the comps on the site, I can definitely volunteer for that.

To everyone that’s “applying”, writing “I apply” is not an application, you need to prove you can do this job. Don’t expect anything to happen if you are not replying with a full portfolio, This job isn’t a a breeze in the park, it takes a lot of time!

You will need to apply with a portfolio of examples from PirateCraft.
- Imgur album/Upload images in this thread of Renders (@arinthros It does work with 1.8 as I installed it last week!! Read: 1.8 not 1.8.6, the 1.8 client works on PirateCraft, Neither uses forge, I didn’t need to install this.)
- Work to a time schedule, Cracking out high quality content each month on time is important.
@SuperGL do you plan on continuing to create the forum & blog posts? so then the team can just focus on creating the content? and then you can organize and post it? I would like that format. 🙂

yes! i will still be doing the main structure of the competitions. I jsut need a team to fill in all teh gaps.

I should of made it a bit more clear, a portfolio is a must see. You do not need forge to run shaders at all.

If you ahve a machine that you know is capable of running shaders but nmot sure how i can help you out.

So far i have one Application, if that is all the interest i will close the competition.

Here are a few shots I took last week. Not having /fly makes it a tad difficult to get the best angles. This is my first time playing with shaders, so I probably could use a little help getting the settings just right.

If they meet the standards, I’d love to be considered for the team. I would hate to see the competition die.

Thinking out loud, these are the commands/tools I would find useful while on a photo shoot:
Fly
Spectator/Invinicibility
/toggledownfall
/time set
/warp coordinates
