hi, it is stehenalex. i quickly logged in to tell you about this perm ban i got. so i was joking about advertising and i said “oh come on to my skylands server and u will get free cotton candy! JK JK JK JK JUST KIDDING” yes i actually said the just kidding part. i was banned for ” advertising you scum, anyway i do NOT have a skylands server or any server R.2 is that no Ip adress was given. R.3 is that i said at the end that i was just kidding. i was banned by calliemav or something like that. i think this was unfair and i should be unbanned. {if my name from this post says jack, that is my real name. my minecraft username is stehenalex}

OK, I see your point, it is good that you made these points, because without them, you could still be banned. I say this was a misunderstanding, he should be given another chance

Why would you joke about this? Its a very enforced rule, the way you think so little of the rules is unnacceptable.

I just dont understand why you would put yourself at risk of being perma banned like that?

Dont you think its a pretty stupid move?

i was just joking i have been on this server for a year and this is the only server i like. i think i should be unbanned because this is not even advertising and i wont do it again. {i think its not advertising}

well he dint acttually advertise right? he made a joke (wich he should not have made). he did an error but remember were just human (most of us) . i think he should just be unbanned or be giving a temporary ban as a warning. also one thing to the admins just a sucjestion (not in a mean way) .why not take screensshots when they advertise and show the evidence to gods. that way there is no dought and this stuff cant happen.

on a side note: who reads the bible? like for real i red the 2 pages and the rules but mostly i din’t remember much. we need to make it more clear to new players to not even joke about advertising.

@jack i know how you feel something similar happend to me.so i recomend you have pacients sense advertising is a very big deal on the server (and most other servers) and choose your words wisely from now on.

Well as far as i know the bible is given to everyone and at spawn it says: read the bible if you break any rule inside you can be banned.
Or something like that.

Now i think we all are smart enough to read two lines on a sign i think the way the rules are presented is allright.

But even if Jack didn’t intend to break a rule he at least theoretically lead to the kind of situation that would have resulted if he actually broke a rule.
I mean: 1-2 Players propably thought he said this for real and logged around.
More players felt encouraged to do as he did too and very few players got unsure about the server because another player might have a better server.

Now this situation is really tricky since there is no real proof and…maybe we should believe him…still he should get like 2 strikes or so….i don’t know just suggestions and thoughts.

Joking or not; this is serious, and common sense dictates that its not in your best interests to start advertising. You are told to read the bible, and know the rules, and although I can’t quote them, I know what’s right an wrong, and you should too. I suggest that that if you truly want to get back onto the server, you apologise to the admin who banned you, and to the community too.

I have no issue with someone who made a mistake, and took a joke too far, but only if it was indeed a joke, and that you accept what you did was wrong; that you learn from it, and don’t do it again.

THe fact is you advertised a server, whether you were joking about it or not; advertising is is still advertising. FOr being a long term player you should fully well know by now of our rules and how much we stand by them.

WE hone down on those who advertise and i know @GodsDead finds it utterly disrespectful.

Let me put it in another context; WE get asked ona daily basis by users can we use x-ray and they receive an instant ban, we know no matter we have said they would use it. WE can not take the risk!

All jokes aside, i still can not understand why you would pull such a prank! Advertising is one of the BIG no no’s. Whether you were joking or not, if we let you get away with it then whats gonna stop you doing it again? maybe joking with another rule.

Can we take the risk? that is the question.

i do not think that is advertising {my opinion was it was just a joke} and we all have souls right?!! we like to make a joke sometimes, i did read the bible, a year ago and i cannot remember the rules.. i was just making a joke and i know that advertising is not allowed {even though my JOKE was not advertising} and i wont joke about it again

it WAS A JOKE okay, i did not give an ip adress {no one could join a server about skylands if no server adress was given} and i dont have a skylands server and i dont know anyone who has one! i would never advertise and it was just a joke! I hate advertising my self and i would never do it!

X ray us different from telling a joke {not to be rude} x ray is cheating on servers and people on piratecraft {my favorite server but i am not banned from} tell jokes sometimes, i have seen it. i told a joke and i was banned from it. like dorkito said, it was a misunderstanding and i should be given another chance.

You joke about advertising a server… You should know better plus it is still advertising when you say the name of the server… No ip is needed for it to be considered advertising.
