@GodsDead maybe we could have your vote?

@GodsDead How about the Item doesn’t teleport? To start an auction, you must put your item in a chest at cove. Whoever wins the auction can then go to cove and get the item. The main problem I guess would be to keep others from taking it, maybe make it so only a certain person can open the chest. Also make it so there are multiple chests for people to have some time to get the item.

@GodsDead I don’t know what you wanna do about this guy, but if we don’t allow advertising on this server, this should certainly be unacceptable behavior.

GodsDead, if we have countries, and then even smaller counties, there should be a fair way to take over enemy land.
A way to do this might be, every time a claim is sieged, it is recorded down in a system log or whatever. A constant plugin verifies to see what claims have been sieged, and by who, and how many times. If this plugin sees that a claim has been sieged at least 5 times successfully by the same person, it does the /giveclaim command to the attacker.
However, a constant plugin checking every single claim all the time might cause lag. I wouldn’t know, I’m just speculating. So maybe we have a custom command, /war , when typed in a claim, it generates that aforementioned piece of code that checks to see simultaneous siege wins in that claim.
No this is not OP, it will simply encourage people to lay their claims strategically, and it will DEFINITELY encourage a more Nation vs Nation type of PvP that many of us are looking for. I really hope this is possible, I’m not a dev, so I don’t know if the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs will be possible, or even make sense. xD

well @godsdead since this started ive been planing with some friends the construction of a city called trapzon which is one of the cities in the ottoman empire, it will have cami castle and the homes will be villa ville style (we will build this for the fun of it. but i would love it to be the city you choose) i’m starting to prepare sence i was investigating as much as i could about the ottoman empire .i think i got it figured and it will be able to support shops and more then 20 homes for players not counting the farm.
i leave you with villa ville style homes and the cami castle (i really don’t know what it is a temple castle or palace it use to be a castle/palace but sence the sultan thing when’t down many people pray there) .Attachments:

They used my island I think as a testing ground or playground. I have not been on in a few days for more than 5 minutes. I just logged on today and I Found a ton of diamond blocks scattered across my island. I have removed them and placed them all in a chest for you. I saw those names so far and all those people I have seen on my island plus creeper, I checked /seen and BestEmeraldMiner seems okay, hasn’t been on in over 4 days. I am disappointed about this whole thing. I await your orders. -CallieMav-

@GodsDead is there anything any of us can do to help make the transition easier? Obviously not everyone will get the memo but those of us who use the forums could see if there’s any preparation type things we can do to help!

@bislo1 It takes as long as it takes.
I thought I would be able to at least test tonight, but Im currently stairing at a screen thats converting player names from lowercase to the correct uppercase letters, the conversion to 1.8 isnt just moving to a new server file, its much more.
- GriefPrevention Needs to convert all the data from lowercase to uppercase, for instance my data is stored as godsdead, this needs to be changed to GodsDead, so then it can look up the proper UUID which happens next, so close to 20,000 players need to be checked for upper/lower case first, and then again to convert those to UUIDS.
- Essentials data needs to do the same.
- Then the world itself needs to do a conversion from 1.7.10 to 1.8, We havent got this far yet as im waiting on griefprevention.
Again, this is only a test, a local test, since this data changes rapidly each and every day, Once I have tested everything and I am happy nothing will be destroyed, I then have to run it on the most uptodate data.
See how this is a very, very, very long process?
I think itll take around about 24 hours to just complete the GriefPrevention data upgrade for the development server, once this finishes I can invite people on to see what happened to the world so we can check for problems with those 2 plugins.
Once I have those plugins sorted, I can move on and test each and every plugin individually by itself, again a very very long process, Ironing out any problems along the way.
Then once I have all this tested, I will need to re-do the entire thing again, on the live server.
I predict that all signs will break in this inital test, If they do we have 2 options.
Get every shop owner to empty their shop before the switch, I will give fair warning of a week once im sure there is no way to convert the world saving the data.
The other option which I hope will work is a flag that can be set in the startup shell script to convert old sign data to new, now this is out of my control and lies in the hosts hands, It can only be done once, and needs to be removed, if something goes wrong or they screw it up, then I will have to revert to a world backup.
Seeing that Im not in control I have to work alongside the host to do this, since I cant do it locally and upload the world as my internet is so poor, the world is 3.6GB in size.
Another obstical is that we can only convert GriefPrevention data once the servers already on 1.8, so I would have to wait the 24 hours conversion time to see if the host managed to set the flag correctly and nothing goes wrong.
Unlesss I block all changes to GriefPrevention (somehow?) on the live server so I can convert locally, and upload that live? Its a big catch 22 the whole thing.
Im testing locally, and seeing what happens first.

Should i take this as we are supposed to pack up our shops and await the conversion?
I can start with my own shop along with informing others about the move.. i have quite a few people running thier own shop in my town so ill send out mails that they need to pack it up.
How long do you think it will be before the conversion @godsdead ?

I’d be more than happy to help @GodsDead :D… It would be the first useful thing I’ve done in a while 😛 (yes, I am a shop owner, I recently-ish bought a shop at /warp trade).
January 28, 2015 at 11:34 pm #8322Also, like @Elsa Sterling, I have a large amount of diamonds. But that tends to happen when you have a fortune II pick XD. I’ll keep an eye out for any violaters, @GodsDead.

January 28, 2015 at 11:30 pm #8321I’d like to report gabino for using an x-ray glitch or hack (not sure which, don’t know of these sort of things), and for using the duplication glitch that is forementioned. I know these because he told me of using them himself. The reason I haven’t reported him earlier is because I didn’t know where to do that. I’m sorry I didn’t think of pm-ing you, GodsDead.
