I will start off by saying I joined the server in 2015. I played for a little while, enough to rank up to sailor, but when I started back very recently, all I had to my name was one set of gear and tools. So even though I am Sailor/Captain rank, I am basically just a little past Cadet.
I enjoy PvP in games and I honestly enjoy the sieging system, it allows me to punish poor base design and take advantage of the dynmap/stealth to get the jump on an opponent. What I do not enjoy about the current system is that it allows raided players to instantly turn a fight by calling in friends or even just random people. Since I typically raid in random gear (why would I siege in my diamond set? I don’t want to risk losing my only one) it is really frustrating when an iron vs. iron fight turns into me against 3 guys in full diamond.
Typically my sieges go like this:
1) I siege the player, win the siege, and proceed to attempt looting.
2) The player TPs back home and has respawn protection for long enough to TP someone else in, invisible and unnoticeable at first.
3) I die instantly to someone who has full pots and gear vs. me in protection 1 iron with maybe a diamond sword.
I feel like the sieging system should definitely restrict command usage after death – until the looting period is completely over, you shouldn’t be able to even TP home, let alone TP someone else. I have no problem with close-by players just walking over, because these are normally town members and it makes sense for them to defend their friend.
The current situation where players TP in someone in full god just discourages PvP and hurts me as a would-be new(ish) player. If anything, it encourages hit-and-run tactics without any looting. If I stay more than 30 seconds after a kill, I just end up losing iron gear because I fight someone who shouldn’t have been there in the first place.
May 17, 2020 at 4:52 pm #66631Here the solution: Dont kill deckys (everyone hates pirates that does that), Dont raid when CSN pvpers are on (They always tp to defend ppl) Don’t raid in iron set. A simple solution for dumb problem >:)

Lego is a good toi.May 17, 2020 at 5:32 pm #66632Yea it shows how he is a old player. Now adays do to Gset factories and large pvp based crews full dia raiding with like 3-5 (13 at one point which was insane) is the new norm. Gsets are cheap(er) now going for 750-800 based off various factors. Stack up buddy @groxterror

May 17, 2020 at 10:48 pm #66639I kinda agree about not being able to TP into the claim under seige. Historically, most attacking armies had to set up two defensive rings while conducting a siege. one towards the castle, and one to stop reinforcements/supplies from getting through. Being able to lock down a claim kind of follows that spirit.
Does it work the otherway? ie. one of the attackers sneaks into the fort then TP’s his squad in. That’ll take a few less Inv pots and chorus fruits, and leaves out the chance of “Decky Pyle” giving away the approach because he needed a touch to light his cigg or something. Personally I’d rather have Decky Pyle stumbling in.
I think those are separate plug-ins. seige, tp, claim & sethome. Do they talk to each other? If so, might I suggest that sethome’s be in claims. Then we could run around with a stick to see if there were any 9×9 claims from someone setting up an ambush for us for when we log in next.
May 18, 2020 at 12:45 am #66645I wasn’t referring to killing deckies with this suggestion – I was mostly referring to experienced players who call in a friend during a siege.
as for the need for god gear – it does discourage fair fights for new players to “require” god gear. New players should be able to fight in iron and be fine if it’s a fair fight. Also I doubt new players will be able to get several sets and pots until they play for a while.
July 30, 2020 at 6:33 pm #68776Personally, I feel the same way, if you lose a seige, you shouldn’t be able to TP back since that’s technically an artificial thing you’re relying on. If you make it back on time on foot or ask someone else for help, sure but relying on TPing completely is a no brainer, especially when you’re being seiged.

July 31, 2020 at 10:00 am #68785We have a custom plugin that resets a players /back if they die due to PvP, its been live ages.
August 4, 2020 at 6:22 pm #69004But it’s only for some of the donators I think which makes it more rare to encounter someone with that ability.

August 5, 2020 at 6:13 am #69008this post was made back in may. no need to continue discussing the topic here, especially since it’s been fixed.
