    I mean this to be a different world, Sting. I agree that many people (such as you or myself!) play to build. Other people play to PvP. This world would be perfect for them while the Piratecraft we all know and love would stay as it is. This other, seperate world could be a fully built with forts, desert islands, port cities, etc.

    Heck, Godsy could run competitions on the creative server and whoever wins gets their island or ship or whatever placed in the new PirateCraft world!

    The good thing about this would be that the world wouldn’t get uglified with newbie pillars, griefing, etc. There would be no such thing as a “siege-proof” base. Pre-built bases and towns that are captured by pirate crews would always have weaknesses built into them to make sieges fun. Ship battles would be a daily occurrence because there would be no teleporting and everyone would be sailing around in ships! Valuables would be stored in NPC banks (limited space) and for pirate crews to be able to keep more loot, they either have to kit out ships with chests or conquer keeps with storehouses. Or maybe even bury the treasure somewhere like a true pirate.

    And as for building bases Solid, it kind of defeats the point because that’s exactly what we do on normal PiratCraft. But it would be cool to have secret islands in the middle of nowhere with forts you can claim capture-the-flag style for example!

    Well the thing is that some of your points speak against you.
    You can’t put chests on a ship if you can’t place any blocks…at all so you couldn’t even customize ships.
    Also you can’t bury threasures because of the said thing.

    I know what you mean though.
    I hate the places around spawn and other easy to reach areas but i think we should solve the problem different.
    Maybe put a rankminimum to the world?
    That’s what the ranks are about anyways right?
    To motivate players to stay and play nice so only qualified players become privileges like alrger ships,cannons or maybe acces to the new world.
    It is just an idea and i know that is is mean to the new players but we have to somehow prevent the damage that exists around spawn and forbidding everyone to build is no solution in my opinion.

    For the castles:
    How about just putting them in additionally?
    You get bonuses every day you hold them or a special kit when a siege on them has been in your advantage?
    Or you do them like dungeons and the first one gets the treasure…we can do more than “just” playing king of the hill with those ideas.

    Heh, I haven’t thought out every aspect in detail. There could be ship upgrades or something that give you more chests? I don’t know. I also don’t know how you could bury treasure without digging up the landscape. Maybe there would be random chests placed around? 😛 You could also give player some leeway with certain things, such as allowing players to plant seeds on farmland, etc. Just not let them change or destroy the hand-crafted landscape around them (at least permanently). This is what would drive the economy. As an economy- and crew- focused world, the point would be to participate in economic activities, not build forts and bases. Players who want to do that should stick with normal PirateCraft.

    Yeah, I agree dungeons, bonus kits for holding certain areas and stuff would be really awesome. There is a lot you can add to it. I just threw this idea out there to see what people think. Hayden suggested a world with a strong focus on crews, this would be one possibility. It would be a totally unique concept in the whole of Minecraft! The idea would obviously need testing, however.

    I do of course want to see normal PirateCraft stay as it is, haha! 🙂

    Oh and as you bring up economy:
    What about producers?
    Even though i liked the idea of trading with npc’s i thought about this a little different.
    Not everybody wants to sail out into the world and risk their life but they want to participate too so they could start farms and produce certain things a travelling trader like me could buy or sell to others.

    Also i like camping and settling in minecraft so i would prefer to build.

    sting.the new world will have npc shops that will trade you a none-stacable custem item for money but there is another shop in another side of the world that trades that item for more money. “Money” is what makes the world go round and round right? well in this case “money” will make players go on ships round and round. its a good way to make easy money Butt!you take the risk of getting you’re stuff taken by pirates.who will actually steal like pirates….if you want protection either you pay a fee to the navy so they keep the watter’s clean (the navy been the BE and the EE if they were to do that) or you go on a gruop becuase “safty in numbers” just like the real merchants.and also you could pay for a crew tell them If you do good and stay loyal i’ll allowing you too work with me and make money if you protect me and the merchantdise.snice it keeps the risk of being raided the shops back in this world wont be affected and some players can even make small shops in the sea for hungry merhcnats pirates and navy. and every merhcant will have a “keepoutside system” wer they open the doors too only the most trusted of custermors.sorry for the grammar but godsdeads idea is perfect but he hasent reviled how the islands will look and thats the fun part you get too imagen it XD

    a couple questions-

    what would the currencey for the traded custom item be? (gold emeralds etc.)

    would there be NPC robbers/helpers?

    will the livemap be active for players to be seen? if not, it makes it a lot more dangerous :3

    ok first: the currentsy is piratecraft money as in the money we use right now….thats the hole point.you make money the right way and pirates steal from you and then sell it to the shops (so they get a bigger profect by stealing and then selling).

    second: the npc’s (possibly just signs with villiagers next to them but it will still look cool 😛 ) will be good.there just people with needs and would buyt and sell to anyone if they have money/merchandise.dint you see my post were i made custem names for the custem items like “ingots of iron” and “golden stones”

    I don’t know why but I don’t like the sound of this world.

    It sounds stupid but it feels far too complex and hard to compete in I think most people like to see them selves as the best and it seems to be a chance for some to make their own world based on their own ideals and truths.

    I know already things like this happen but I think we need to concentrate on the real things on this server.

    Co-Operation.

    If there was no Co-Operation less than half the server would exist so stop going it should be this and that because it is only taking your side and really this new server is just to make the ships and those who don’t like tpa happy.

    Uhm Palmerageddon the basic idea of piratemc was to implement ships and use them for…stuff.
    But since tpa got implemented they got used less.

    You don’t have to play in the new world if you don’t want to but i hope that at least some players come to piratemc because they want to sail.
    Since we couldn’t just take out tpa and warps since some shopowners paid real money for it gods had this awesome idea of a sparate world with trading and sailing for  all those who wanted to do it.
    And that’s why and how basically this world should work…i guess i don’t have any idea how i am going to get there but i swear: sailing is great and you should try it either in the normal piratecraft or in the new world.

    i remeber back in the day with solid dg i use to go for weeks sailing the seas claiming land as ours (we never claimed the ship we were allways scared someone would robe us) i was such a noob but i in joid every part even the part when java first raided me ;-; .this “New World” is so everyone is a a “Nobb” wanting to sail all around the world on just one “ship and raid people not becuase you hate them not becuase you’re at war but becuase thy have treasure” ~words of seusssempai 😀

    Sting you’ve missed my point entirely.

    what I was trying to say was let it be created but people stop trying to mold it into their desired shape.

    i never said that tpa was bad or that I still wanted it or that I never want to play on it.

    Also I have sailed.

     

    and for crazy.

    what I have to say is that if it is a games server what’s the point of people saying it is a no tpa and for ships to me used more often and all and it’s only really to make those who don’t like how people use tpa so much.

    Really this posts and what some people reply to me makes me feel like giving up on life.

    Sorry if anyone felt a bit offended it’s not intended and I’m just super confused is it mini games or is it large oceans with lots of little islands with no tpa or have I been reading all the posts on this matter wrong.
