    this has been here for a while now, im not sure if anyone has suggested this before, apologies if so. but id like to suggest we remove /siege from deckies. currently, deckhands cannot be sieged. BUT they can siege whomever they like. a long time ago there was a report on the forums about a deckie with pvp protection still enabled that sieged port hope. then earlier today, a sailor was being sieged and lost. to a deckhand. in my opinion, it seems a bit odd that deckies can siege. I remember when they could, and that rule was changed. but they can still siege whoever. though it’s kinda silly that a deckie is out and about sieging when they should be building and trying to rank up in the first place.

    id like to suggest that deckhands have the /siege command removed, and allow either sailors or cadets to be able to /siege. kinda torn on that one, though id like to hear some input 🙂

    I like the idea! Imagine if an op player brought a new God armour friend to a fight? Then you literally would have an invincible player

    I whole-heartily agree. More than once I’ve heard of someone complaining because they were beheaded by a deckie with a wooden sword or carrot or whatever since the deckie still had their protected status and couldn’t be hurt. So, yeah, please make that go away, or the protected status, but both is too much.

    Yes Cysteen! I fully agree.

    I believe you should be able to siege from cadet plus.

    If the requirement is to be a sailor to siege and you are a cadet, you can get sieged but you can’t siege yourself.

    In light of the recent issues with Princess,

    turning off the ability for deckies to siege would be a splendid idea.  I can easily see him of all people abusing this to lock players in their bases while his candy @ss flies through the chandelier and back into the floor multiple times while hitting you with an axe.

    Princess aside, deckies shouldn’t even be given the ability to siege. After all, what resources will they use to even attack players, a stone sword? We’ve also had issues with deckie trolls joining the server. Wouldn’t be hard to imagine them sieging a veteran player and stripping a build of all blocks that can be sieged. Like Cysteen said, they should be spending their deckie days trying to build up resources.

    I think I’ve also seen a veteran player or two pay a brand-new deckie to go siege a player just for shiggles, though this was back in CoV days.

    I don’t believe this is the right place to put this, but I’m not sure where is.  Perhaps I should start a new topic….

    Anyhow, I believe we need to give newcomers more food upon their joining. Currently, it’s a race against starvation, which the only survivors seem to be those who join a crew, or are aided.

    One, this is hard for the newcomer to do. Crews won’t usually accept a member who joined a couple of minutes ago, and they starve.

    Two, so they have an option other than joining a crew straight off the bat. They can explore and even remain individual. A newcomer won’t know the warps, and the area around spawn is depleted of resources and food.

    If you have any opinions, please voice them.

    Totally off topic.

    Secondly, lemme list a few issues with the above post, namely:

    1. Pigs
    2. Cows
    3. Sheep
    4. Chickens
    5. Grass/seeds/dirt/wheat
    6. Carrots
    7. Potatoes!
    8. Fish
    9. Zombies (sorta)

    And, the list goes on. Its dead easy not to starve in minecraft, and 1.11, for all its faults, is actually going to make it even harder to starve to death. Deckies with half a brain should be fine xD

    @CrazyPirate I did acknowledge that it was off topic, and yet I was unsure where to put it. If you could recommend what to do in future, I’d be grateful.

    1,2,3 and 4 Not common enough for uncooked meat to be an option. Also, raw chicken?

    5. Yes, I acknowledge this is the best option.  Yet, first they need water, then to wait for it to grow, and the collected time might outweigh the food gathered.

    6 and 7. How on earth would they find these? A zombie drop?

    8. Yes… But few newcomers patiently wait by the stream for fish.

    9 … Not much needs to be said.

    I hate adding on to this off topic reply, but I will mention one thing. deckies start with a fishing pole, right? on a ship. in the middle of an ocean. fishing pole. water. if you cant make the connection, then you probably shouldn’t be playing the game >_>

    Just to throw it out there, I was a decky a little while ago, and I seem to recall trying to play spar with friends at the time. It won’t let you pvp in your invincible time unless you typed some command to disable your protection. So I think the info in this thread is flawed a bit.</p>
