Ahoy Ye scallywags!
PirateCraft needs developers, the server needs you!
We need someone that’s proficient in programming Java, has experience making Bukkit/Spigot plugins and understands security and performance.
Why does PirateCraft need developers?
I have hundreds of ideas for improvements to our existing plugins, we have outstanding bugs for existing plugins, we have deprecated plugins that need updating or small bits fixing.
Im at the point where I cant rely on developers to fix the bugs I report, or implement features any more, some have just plain given up after I submit a ton of bug reports and there are no alternatives. Its a constant battle for me to get things fixed and improved. We need our own developer team.
Im really not fussed about proprietary ownership to PirateCraft, so the code could be made public, pushed to upstream repos or sold on Spigot, I just want code to run as best it can on PirateCraft. There’s a bit of an exception to this if we ever get to the point of custom gamemodes, or new plugins, but we don’t even have a single dedicated developer yet to fix the broken crap from other plugins, so lets cross that bridge when we come to it.
Whats in it for the developer?
For starters, lets get the basics sorted, Custom rank that inherits captain, then we can set debug permissions to it for live testing of said plugins too 🙂 We could do anything in-game, any rewards etc.
Real life money is also an option.
Another option that might be better is; Fork the plugins that are no longer supported, fix the bugs I have listed, add in all the new features, test on PirateCraft, gather data and user input from the Community and then sell the plugin on Spigot for a trickle of constant income.
Just spitballin i’ve never had a developer help out with PirateCraft before, its kind of a biggie for me as theres a lot of trust involved to not implement a backdoor OP!
Why dont you make them Gods?
I do program in a few languages, but not java. I would first need to learn Java, and then the Spigot API, then actually tear down existing plugins and figure out how to fix them. I don’t have time for any of this! I need someone dedicated! or a few someone’s!
May 24, 2017 at 11:59 am #50242Well, I don’t have enough experience in programming to help you, but i know someone who could, anyway, if you need graphic stuff, you can call me any time 🙂

Horatio NelsonMay 26, 2017 at 1:33 pm #50297Hello GodsDead
I’m a bukkit plugin developer with one successful bukkit plugin so far. ( https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/clean-chat-chat-filter-join-messages-coloured-messages-mute-players-global-mute-broadcast-messages ) . I have self taught myself java and have fixed spigot plugins for friends servers as well. I know I can be a bit toxic in game, but hopefully if you can see past my attitude and to my programming skill we can be of some help to each other. At the moment I simply wish to improve my java programming skills as I have found myself bored with patching updates and adding new aspects to my current chat filter.
EDIT:
Contact details: I have skype, discord, teamspeak and would be willing to get any other medium to speak to you with.
I hope you will consider my application

September 11, 2017 at 12:12 pm #53424Bump. I have a major project/idea I want someone to start on asap.
We need developers.
September 11, 2017 at 6:31 pm #53436Maybe Warbluke would be a good candidate, he has some experience in coding but isn’t very active, so I don’t know how that would go, but it’s worth a shot.
