I’ve been working on updating the auto ranking configs, I’m at the point where I need to pick statistics needed to upgrade to Firstmate and Quartermaster.
So far the only statistics set in stone is playtime, that was chosen by the people in this thread: https://piratemc.com/topic/request-help-me-pick-the-playtime-for-2-new-ranks/
Boatswain will be reduced to 15 days playtime
Firstmate will be set at 30 days replacing boatswain playtime
Quartermaster will be set at 60 days playtime.
As for other statistics we have a lot we can pick from, so heres a list of everything tracked:
Arrows, Beds entered, Blocks broken, Blocks placed, Buckets emptied, Buckets filled, Commands done, Damage taken, Death, Eggs thrown, Fish caught, Items crafted, Items dropped, Items picked up, Joins, Kill, Last join, Last seen, Money, Move, Omnomnom, PVP, PVP streak, PVP top streak, Playtime, Shears, Teleports, Times kicked, Tools broken, Trades, Votes, Words said, Times changed world, Xp gained
Things I think wont work: Getting X Amount of kills, This will either be gamed or very hard to accomplish as the updates to PVP mechanics in minecraft makes it hard to kill anyone thats been playing for a while, and this was never popular in previous ranking.
Voting: Sadly the stats update broke this, he fully removed support for votes being recorded.
I think we should stick with the basics of Playtime, Block broken, Blocks Placed and Exp (I know this isn’t favorable, but its hard to obtain as you need to stay alive!) another good one is movement (boat, horse, foot, pig etc)
One new stat we could bring in could be Money, as this is a harder rank to obtain (without donating) as the player would need to focus on eco, although its easily cheated by borrowing money off someone or donated for, so only about 50% on this one.
Which leaves maybe Trades with villagers, but this might just be tedious. The idea is that you would naturally rank up and have to put in some effort for specifics like Exp.
We could pick a specific block to mine? I need to test the block placed, could be cool like placing X amount of ender crystals. That requires some expertise to do.
New Ideas, that I think would work.
Claims, It can also check for grief prevention claims you own (the amount of claims made), amount of claim blocks owned (The amount of claim blocks owned all together), remaining blocks (Claim Blocks left.. not sure why we would ever need this one), Bonus blocks (from Donating or been given, or bought in-game)
My only reserve, is claim blocks are similar to playtime, in that you get given them for just playing..
So far I have this:
Boatswain > First mate:
- Playtime: 30 days
- Blocks broken: 300,000
- Blocks placed: 300,000
- Exp: 125
- Movement on Foot: 500,000 blocks
Teleports: ? (When you move in a user built shit it teleports you, which is recorded, in high numbers)Cant do it 🙁
First Mate > Quartermaster:
(Its suppose to be hard)
- Playtime: 60 days
- Blocks broken: 1,000,000
- Blocks placed: 1,000,000
- Exp: 200
- Movement on foot: 2,000,000 blocks
Teleports: ? (When you move in a user built shit it teleports you, which is recorded, in high numbers)Cant do it 🙁
Update, My final proposition, with all other ranks.

June 1, 2017 at 3:34 pm #50538i think for movement for the first mate should be at 500,000 blocks by walking, and for quartermaster, 2,000,000 blocks by walking and 50,000 blocks by boat.
rest of the stats look reasonable but a question on the claim blocks acquired, is that how many you have in total on your or in claims, or all that you have receive even the ones you sold?

Ik mining logs was in on of the rank up requirements (Not sure what rank) But that would get more people mining logs for ships.
June 1, 2017 at 4:04 pm #50540Yeah, so I had a random idea when you were asking for help in discord; what about giving the players who rank up to quartermaster or higher temp permissions for something? An example would be the ability to fly around spawn for an hour… (just spawn though). I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of temp permissions that could be given to players once they reach these ranks.

June 1, 2017 at 4:11 pm #50544Second idea: You know how new players have a special name tag in chat? (white instead of grey) Well surely it would be possibly to track if you give a new player items? If so a rank-up requirement could be giving 20 new players 20 diamonds each. Thereby forcing people who want to rank-up to quartermaster to help newbies to the server. I chose diamonds because they were the first thing that came into mind but other items or perhaps money could be done as well (like paying 20 newbies 200 dollars each).

Obviously all of these would be game-able to an extent, but then what isn’t?
I don’t know if this is possible, but potentially creating some cool downs or limits for requirements to deter gaming e.g. you can only claim the a bounty set by a player once a week

15 days 100 levels, 60 days 125? Doesn’t work out in my books! At bare minimal 125 and then 150. The idea is that its really hard.

Not tractable by the plugin to rank players, although I do track this.

I like the idea for a temp permission. We can do that, it wont be limited to spawn though 🙂

Going to keep this one for Carpenter as it makes seance with that rank. Its also gaining custom messages to tell people what logs to mine, and I might change the diamond collection to a different type of log!

Beast mode. Im game for these.
Im going to ditch the claim requirements, I just straight up don’t like them.
I’ll update the main post with what were at now.
Ship (user built) movement.
Java had a great idea to encourage ships, ships when you move in them actually counts as teleports each block you move. So we could use the teleport method to track use of ships. Since there so damn high in teleports using /warps and /tp wouldn’t get you very far! we can also set custom messages now, so I can rename it from teleports to “blocks moved in a player built ship”.
But what i’m struggling with is picking a number.

June 2, 2017 at 12:21 pm #50587I spend most of my time building on the server and I have about 67 days playtime. I’ve only got around 400k block breaks and 780k block places. If the playtime is supposed to indicate how long you need to have played to get the rank then the block stats for quartermaster may be a bit off.
Instead if its supposed to be really high then it may be a good idea to raise the playtime slightly.

June 2, 2017 at 2:06 pm #50588Ye I have 75 days playtime but I’m not much of a builder. So I only have about 300k. But I Cysteen did point out that building canals or other things that will help the server does build up your blocks placed and broken. So it just matters how you look at it. The long term players that Pvp more than build most likely won’t be able to get to that.
