GodsDead, can you reset the teleportation timer for donators. I mean its a unfair advantage that a player with diamond armor. Was running from someone who would kill him and he couldn’t escape because the moment he finishes the command he dies. But, if a donator was in danger. If he does the command he will be in a safe territory in a instant. So can you simply just make the donator teleportation speed be at least 2-3 seconds.
Edited by GodsDead.
Instead of me making a new thread, can any donators please reply to this thread about me adding a cooldown timer due to PVP abuse, I have added a poll but all the PVP abusers have obviously voted for not to have it, so this thread will act as a way to express how you feel about adding a cooldown.
June 19, 2015 at 10:41 pm #15720Its little funny because you were donator/PvPer yourself before your rank expired.
-_-
Otherwise I agree, the issue is not that its fast, its that its instant. You cant even kill donator in fall trap if he can type fast enough. (Its doable)

June 19, 2015 at 11:13 pm #15722Aye, I support this motion too.
June 19, 2015 at 11:14 pm #15723Its not a command based delay, I may be able to override it with a delay, this is a good idea and I have thought about it before. I don’t think this would go down well with the community, Donators bypass cool-downs and delays as a perk.
There IS a 15 second PVP timer, if you have someone in PVP combat they cant use any commands to escape for 15 seconds pvp free.
Sadly there is no way to prevent the Captain from using /back after they escape, which is an issue.
June 19, 2015 at 11:18 pm #15724The only rank that doesn’t have a tp-delay is captain. I mean that is the perk of donating which I’m sure you did not complain about it when you had your donation rank. Granted some do take advantage of it in a negative way but then others don’t.

*depends on how you want to view my super powers*June 20, 2015 at 2:28 am #15740Taking away the efficient timing of captain teleportation would devalue the rank of captain. Like @smokeyriver said, some people take advantage of what is available to them and others don’t. This is a simple fact of life. I personally don’t think there is a large enough issue with instant teleportation in pvp to consider removing it. If an attacker can’t chase down a running captain in time for the pvp timer to expire and for the captain to type a teleportation command, the attacker has some training to do. The pvp timer alone compensates for the instant teleportation of captains in a fight. This is only a small advantage captains have, and it is too small of an issue for it to be worth taking away the positive aspects of instant teleportation. Positive aspects include: saving yourself from lava, saving yourself from drowning, teleporting to people (or teleporting people to you) more quickly in urgent situations, etc. I’m sure there are many more. If my opinion is to be considered at all in this matter, please know that I, as a 3-time captain donator, do not support a captain teleportation delay. Thanks.

I think it is fine how it is
~Queen of the Woodland Elves
Elder of the High Council~June 20, 2015 at 9:26 am #15766I think what bugs people is the massive PVP advantage instant tping gives you. As Godsdead says, especially the /back command. From what I’ve seen, many raid abuse glitches (backforcing anyone?) and like 90% of harassment cases are because of donators using /back constantly.
A slightly negative downside to instant teleports is that player-made traps have no effects on donators. Fall traps, lava traps, piston traps, suffocation traps… All a donator has to do is /home and he or she doesn’t lose anything and can even teleport back again instantly using /back. If teleports had 1 second delay for donators as well (basically nothing), it would prevent them from being able to cheaply escape from certain death scenarios.
On a side note, if a donator is going to lose a PVP battle, all they have to do is sprint away for 15 seconds (which CANNOT be caught up with if the donator is any good at running) and instantly do /home. I was once in the same situation when fighting Karim. My crew got overpowered and I was the last man standing. Instead of dying and losing prot IV, I decided to leg it. I must have run for like 5 minutes before I dared do /home. Because IF someone had been right behind me when I stopped, they could easily have caught up in the 5 seconds teleport delay and slaughtered me. When I did do /home, the wait felt like forever. But it made the run and the panic feel all the more worthwhile.
However, I do feel that last option is a perfectly ok perk for donators if they want it that much. The 15 second PVP delay is there for a reason after all.
It’s the traps that bug me personally, as a redstone architect should have the option of defending his base with brains, not just with brawn. It’s also the only way many people will ever score a kill against an OP player.
June 20, 2015 at 9:51 am #15773I can list a very sad example of a /back abuse;
Someone (Unnamed) raided a noob, but they had some decent armour. That someone got killed, in the storage room of that noobs base, which was claimed. Every time he died, he did /back; and so eventually, that noob got jailed, and the storage room was free to rummage. This was a raid that the noob would be guarantied to lose, as even if he wasn’t in the storage room, the attack could call in reinforcements while the defender/noob was in jail.
How do you defend against something that can tp away from all traps, and reappears as soon as it dies?
June 20, 2015 at 1:17 pm #15786There is already a timer after teleporting it lasts about a minute and it isn’t straight away when you teleport and I don’t have /back for some reason others do yet I am Commander Donator Rank.
June 20, 2015 at 1:33 pm #15788It devalues the purpose of captain. Also Pig its funny how you say this AFTER your rank expires
Hi
June 20, 2015 at 5:38 pm #15799when I said on the NO tp weekend event what I meant was generally in the game it should cost money for a tp so people do not abuse as much this would discourage people massively.
On a side note block Tp’s from not trusted people as a whole in claimed area.
I don’t know if these ideas are even doable but they would remove a load of people from abusing the current system these are only suggestions if you don’t like them then fine just don’t go crazy and shout at all caps at me.
June 20, 2015 at 5:49 pm #15802A 1-3 second timer for /back would be the perfect median between donators and non-donators. This way, /back is still very effective while not being to be abused for combat or raids. The very command itself is powerful enough, so a 2 second cooldown wouldn’t remove its great effect. It would simply make it hard to abuse with by it not being instant.
EDIT: Or put a return cooldown on, this way /back is still instant, but a player can’t spam it to go back and forth through bases, picking up their dropped items before 2 seconds pass. As Sara mentioned, /back isn’t just used for pvp, but also to escape dangers such as drowning or lava. So putting a return cooldown wouldn’t hinder the effects of escaping non-pvp dangers, while still removing the possibility of pvpers to abuse the command.
I'm just a sweet ol' grandma tryna understand wtf I just read.June 21, 2015 at 2:25 pm #15834When I initially made the donator ranks we were tiny, we had no donators and PVP wasn’t prevalent. Hence the extended perks of no TP delay.
/back is extremely OP, Whats makes it even more op is the no-delay teleport. The issue is, once you give something like this out, you can’t just take it back.
Something needs to happen, even if it is a delay. Its bang out of order using the tools like this.
@CrazyPirate1 that’s exploiting the game mechanics and against the rules. Please PM me the player that uses these disgusting tactics. -
