I love how you’ve already given some of the characters easily recognizable traits, Capt Tim is the wizened old veteran and Ath is the trigger-happy, cocky, typical problem with authority kind of guy. To build an interesting plot, you need interesting characters, to make interesting characters, be stereotypical. People love characters that they can relate to, but make sure to make the characters somewhat unique for a non-cliche story, but keep them human. Don’t make a 40 year old bald guy with 2 rocket launchers for arms and a bionic eyeball the main character, as tempting as that sounds

Also: you need nicer ships. o.o Tell me a way I can build ships for you, I luv making sci-fi ships (remember the flippahs? ) The base was really nice: you need more beautiful buildings/scenes like that!
