Following off what KingRS and Eph had said, I was wondering some more about the rules. Use Common Sence (9). And say if someone asked about if xray mods were used, normally they would be banned. But I mean, you just used Rule 2. Really, you were following the rules, and yet you were still banned. I have a solution.
If someone asks if xray mods are allowed, just say no. Later, check his/her inventory, chests, to see if anything unnormal. If there is, try to get him/her out of using xray, if he/her still does it, ban him/her.
For Rule 9,
I mean Common Sense is understandable, but it all depends on a players experience with other minecraft servers. He/She might’ve been looking for a server that has mods, hacks, etc allowed. So they would ask. Using Common Sense would be to ask. I mean, I’ve played on server with mods, hackers, that stuff ALLOWED. They support hackers. I left instantly knowing I’d get beat up by them cause I don’t hack, and will never hack. Anyhow. Just for Rule 9 add Use Common sense with chat or something, because people know this as a survival server, this is SOO different from a survival server. If has protection, ships, so normally people think it is survival (mining, cooking, building, that stuff). So, some people are used to hacks they would ask. I know I have been repeating myself over and over. But, Common Sense is needs to be a little more specific. I mean, your common sense isn’t the same as mine. For Example
Hardtimez Common Sense: To raid, become op, declare war.
Reptarias Common Sense: To lead a county, be brave for her country, to drive peace throughout piratecraft.
Sorry if they are wrong, I just see those from both.
Make it a bit more specific please.
Hi
August 20, 2015 at 4:31 pm #19868Agreed, (not to go against admins) but some servers allow certain mods and such that would normally result in a ban on pirate craft.
And without asking, how would you know whether your breaking the rules or not.(not the xray thing as that is clearly stated on the rule page) However nothing was there to inform players that X-Ray texture packs were not allowed since they are technically not mods or hacks.
Maybe just fix up these rules so that it is possible for players to ask questions without being banned.

Hi
August 21, 2015 at 5:10 am #19886I disagree whole heartedly. Let me break this down:
Say if someone asked about if xray mods were used, normally they would be banned.
Absolutely. I do not see a problem with this? If they are asking if they can use xray, they have a client installed with the intention of using it.
Let’s face it, and I’ll put it frankly; They don’t give a shit. They’re asking to ask. They’d continue to play with the modification regardless.He/She might’ve been looking for a server that has mods, hacks, etc allowed. So they would ask. Using Common Sense would be to ask.
If they were looking for a server that allows hacks, they are the kind of toxic player that is not needed in this community.
Furthermore – Using common sense would be not hacking in the first place.I mean, I’ve played on server with mods, hackers, that stuff ALLOWED. They support hackers. I left instantly knowing I’d get beat up by them cause I don’t hack, and will never hack.
Could you have made this sound any more defensive?
Just for Rule 9 add Use Common sense with chat or something, because people know this as a survival server, this is SOO different from a survival server.
The rule “use common sense” is there for a reason. ‘Common’ sense is a kind of sense that is particularly ‘common’ among the community.
When joining a server do you:A) Scream out “I’M USING A CLIENT.”
B) Scream out “CAN I USE A CLIENT?”
Or C) Greet people and try to learn the ropes.Basically everyone who isn’t looking to be banned on 99.99% of servers goes for option ‘C.’
August 21, 2015 at 6:37 am #19890Liam, what he meant is:
The common sense rule clearly states ‘ ask a staff whenever in doubt’ and if I was unsure with…idk if mini maps were allowed and I asked. Why should I be banned? I followed the rules exactly.
Some one was banned because he asked whether X-Ray Texture packs were allowed. Which is to me a sensible question just to make sure he is abiding the rules. As there says nothing against xray texture packs on the rules.
Also asking about that stuff doesn’t necessarily mean you are using mods or hacks. I mean…if you were using these, you would keep quiet and stay out of admins way to get away with it. Not make it obvious.
I think ‘asking staff whenever in doubt’ should rather be given a different meaning or make it easier for people to ask these things without facing an instant ban.
Perhaps a message should pop-up whenever someone says anything related to the subject, in the way that /trapped works.

August 21, 2015 at 12:58 pm #19896First of all,for all this information you would simply go to the website.
Just like I did when first joined.
To avoid all of those questions. THAT is common sense. Like most games and things in life there instructions and directions to read prior playing and making a fool of one self. This would be the proper way to do most things. You learn about it,read up on risks, then go from there.
It is in no way the staffs fault that people choose not to do that.
If X-ray mods are not allowed, due to a player cheating. Why on earth would any other form be allowed? Once again ..common sense.

August 21, 2015 at 1:07 pm #19897This topic has already been presented in an organized manner in a previous thread:
Nothing was decided about it at the time because GodsDead is away and he has authority over these matters. When he returns, I will bring that thread to his attention. In the meantime, continuing to discuss and argue about the topic will merely weaken any support that was previously gained. There is no reason to make staff waste their time with two different threads about the exact same thing.
If you have any new ideas pertaining to the topic, I ask that you please post them in the original thread. However, please read the entire thread first, because everything said here so far has already been touched upon in the other thread.
August 22, 2015 at 1:52 am #19907Yes, Eph I wasn’t sure if you were talking about rule 9, well, It also looks all sorted out.
Hi
August 22, 2015 at 3:41 pm #19929So is this a post for a post of a post? If so it needs to be closed so conversation can happen in one thread only.
August 22, 2015 at 3:49 pm #19931Welcome back GodsDead!
I think this topic can be closed.
August 22, 2015 at 7:45 pm #19959I swear if they were to ask or whatever that would be common sense anyway.
(Also this is an example)
I know some questions are stupid.
i.e. how do i craft (this or that)
But things to do with claims, boats and stuff like that.
Yes you can easily turn around and say ‘check the website and shut up’ they might not know anything like this exists.
So i think some people should give new people some slack especially if they are in the deckhand to sailors ranks.
