Good evening. Today, The Eternal Empire of Hydra can report to the people of PirateCraft and to the world that at 3 am Central Standard Time, Hydran Special Forces conducted and operation that destroyed the Roman Empire, a major player in creating a toxic Minecraft environment and a shitty crew responsible for the murder of thousands of deckhands.
It was nearly 5 years ago that a dark Minecraft day was brightened by the best attack on Buckmaster in PirateCraft history. The actions taken that day are seared into our crew memory – dubs of materials stolen; bases destroyed to its elements; TNT explosion echoing through shattered halls, where the actions of brave Hydran agents gave their lives in the pursuit of a less Roman server.
Over the last year, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counter-Roman professionals, we have made great strides in that effort. We have disrupted countless crews and strengthened our homeland defense. In the Fire Nation we immolated their crew base, which had been an eyesore to all those with taste. And around the server, we worked with our friends and allies to kill or destroy annoying players, including several who were part of so called “raids” of the Empire.
Yet Rome continued to endure in new and worse ways across the server. And so, in a new server wide security directive. Hydran Security Forces made the destruction of Rome their top priority in bringing peace and security to the server, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat TAS.
Then, last May, after months of painstaking work by our intelligence community, we activated a sleeper agent with ties to Rome. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. Together with our Hydran Security Team we developed more information about the possibility of an operation against Rome. Finally, last week, when it was determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, an operation was authorized to once again burn Rome to nothing but ashes.
Today, at the direction of Hydra’s Director General, the Eternal Empire of Hydra, under cover of darkness, launched a targeted operation against multiple Roman cities and compounds. A team of Hydrans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. After a prolonged raid, they razed and destroyed multiple Roman strongholds and monuments.
Today, we give thanks to our sleeper agent and the countless Intelligence and counter-Roman professionals who have worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The people of the server do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice. We give thanks to the men and women who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our crew.
Let us remember that we can do these things not just because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one crew, one nation, one people.
Thank you. May Hive bless Hydra, and may Hive bless PirateCraft.
I have created and recreated a shop to sell the Creamy Pumpkin-Spiced Latte Brew. After creation it will work, but at some point later if you try to use the shop if claims that it is empty. My shop is s26 at shop5.
At first i though it was an issue with color in the sign text. now removed. Then I thought it could be an issue with bad potions, and it would tell me that even though they all had the same number of distills and were the same quality, that there were fewer in the chest than actually were in the chest, I removed potions until the numbers matched, thinking a had a few corrupt potions. Still did not fix the issue.
Soooo… I think there is a bug.
Microsoft that owns Mojang who make and maintain Minecraft are enforcing all Minecraft Java accounts to require their Minecraft account be tied to a Microsoft Account.
This is so Microsoft can tie all Minecraft accounts into their existing bans & punishment systems that they already have in place for Xbox.
I have voiced my opinion on Discord about my worries with Microsofts choices and speculating on their plans for the future to forward crush Java players to try and get more people using their terrible Bedrock edition of Minecraft, I feel this needs to be posted publiclyand not hidden in the discord.
Here are my negative thoughts with forcing migration from Java accounts to Microsoft accounts.
- Once migrated they will follow the same report system as Xbox, Player accounts can be reported.
This is fine for reporting toxic/racist players, but there’s no protection in place for groups of toxic people being able to “report” any Owner/Moderator from any Minecraft server getting their account locked for false reports. - Players that have parental controls enabled to disable chat will not be able to ask for help, they will not be able to engage with the community or even view help menus in-game.
Having the account as a Microsoft account will give the account holder the ability to disable all in-game chat & communication. - You cant have multiple accounts on 1 Microsoft account, you will need multiple Microsoft accounts
- Tied to Microsofts TOS, means if you break any of their TOS, you are screwed.
If Microsoft thinks you have done something to their TOS, they stop your account entirely. This means everything in-game is now stuck with that account, there is no easy way to transfer all data to another account on a server. - If you are using an old account someone else in your family bought, and its from their email, unless you have access to their email, you’re now screwed. As it will be required, so you just lose access to your account. Hell, what happens if you cant get into your old email?
- Banned from playing a single player game if you don’t play multiplayer!
Some positives for stricter moderation of accounts
- Kills moving to an Alt+VPN/Bots/Black market accounts.
- 2FA (No technical reason your account needs to be Microsoft for this)
- You get a cape? (No technical reason your account needs to be Microsoft for this)
- You may be able to change skins live (No technical reason your account needs to be Microsoft for this)
I posted these on the 22 October 2020, Today Mojang announced global moderators that will have the ability to permanently ban your Minecraft account with no way to fight or request an unban.
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/moderating-minecraft
TLDR:
Minecraft moderators can now ban players who do not follow our Community Guidelines
When sending online messages using our services (Realms) or Featured Servers
and Communicating online through signposts and booksAt present they say they will only moderate Bedrock & Realms, but this is the groundwork for Moderating Java accounts with the enforcement to migrate to Microsoft and the introduction of permanent banning moderators that can ban anyone for any reason they see fit for any single word you write. You could make a typo on a sign and you are permanently banned from Minecraft forever with no way to fight back.
My previous host was a shared host, they dealt with everything related to keeping the server fast/up, but they massively increased their prices so ive had to go down the route of hosting the website myself, bit more work but the costs were astronomical what my old host was asking for, they wanted 3.5x what I originally paid up front for 3 years, oof!
So I’ve rented anther server specifically for this website. There may be some things that stopped working, or speeds may get slower or faster, it may crash etc. If it gets laborious taking up too much time I may switch back to shared hosting where its someone elses problem, for now I pre-paid a years hosting for the website, lets hope it just works.
As you could probably tell its quite a process moving websites, so I have quite a few projets I need to move yet, including;
- Wiki needs moving still
- Punishment system needs moving still
- Tickets system needs moving
- I may find a plugin for the main website to replace the tickets system, after having it a few years, we barely get private tickets, might be worth simplifying it.
piratemc.com cache.
Even though we have a MUCH more powerful server running the website over shared hosting, its erratic with its performance, it goes from super fast to super slow, I will have to learn more about this over time. For now, I have installed a cache for the website, that caches static versions of the website on the web server itself, but also creates caches on your browser so its not having to pull from the web server constantly, so if you experience the map getting stuck in a loop when its updated, or posts not showing, try emptying your local cache, but also report it! So I know! Its currently set to 24h browser cache.
- Once migrated they will follow the same report system as Xbox, Player accounts can be reported.
