Upon request, I have built the French ship of the line, Redoutable. I have been working on and off on this ship for about a month now, mostly due to exams and focusing on the new spawn ship.
The ship itself is your standard ship of the line; wooden hull, several gun decks littered with cannons, and sails. The interior is nothing special, featuring a standard layout found in most ships of the line. I struggled to find good quality deck plans or even drawings of the ship, using mostly pictures of a model that someone created based off the real ship. I had quite a lot of issues with the decks too, and the placement of the gallery.
The Redoutable had 74 guns, two main gun decks, and a few on the forecastle and quarter decks. the lower gun deck had 28 guns, and the upper gun deck had 30. I have tried to recreate this, but it was difficult so my ship may differ from the real thing in that regard. Those with keen eyes will notice that there are far more than 74 ‘cannons’ on my version. This is because I have also included anti-personal guns, carronades, and other types of cannon that are not counted in the ’74 guns’ rating.
Overview of the Redoutable:
the Redoutable was a Temeraire class 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy. Built in 1791, she featured the iconic 74-gun layout that was becoming standard in most navies around the world, bearing the right amounts of firepower, maneuverability, and survivability. She took part in the battles of the French Revolutionary Wars in the Brest squadron, served in the Caribbean in 1803, and dueled with HMS victory during the Battle of Trafalgar, killing Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson during the action. She sank in the storm that followed the battle.
Additional images:
The photos are my own this time with the exception of the water pictures (thanks Chailey <3).
Thanks to @snapcrackplays for suggesting this and giving me a challenge. If anyone wants to recommend me a ship to build, please do so 😀

@XeronTopic: Raids! – News Edition: 44
Hello everyone and welcome to edition 44 of Piratecraft Articles! Don’t expect me doing this every week, because making this has been a mess. Sorry if it isn’t the best or if I have false information, my strong suit is not language arts. ?
In this edition, I am mainly just trying to summarize recent raids.
[x] Buckmaster1993 Dirt Poor!
Around four days ago, some TAS members decided to take a trip over to Buckmaster1993’s gigantic base to kill The_designor. I don’t think any of them expected this though. Once he was killed in the siege, all of Buckmaster’s chests were unlocked, apart from two. Everything was stolen.
[x] EliExcellent’s Base Issues!
The infamous Hydra have done it again. Recently, dpex81 slowly earned the trust of EliExcellent, which turned out to be a big mistake on Eli’s part. Once dpex81 gained trust, that night he teleported all of the Hydra members in. He opened the chests while the rest stole the items. Dpex81 told me, “Well we took everything. Broke all his crops, stole about two stacks of iron blocks out of his floor, emptied his vault, and then blew up his house.”
The next day, EliExcellent brought GodsDead over to his base to see if it could be regenerated. Yes, it was regenerated in the end. Hopefully, EliExcellent will be more careful regarding who he trusts in the future.
[x] Horsia on the Attack!
Recently, Saltpigeon brought some friends to the server to fight for Horsia. They have been camping and logging on top of VPS and TAS bases to try to begin a fight. So far, most of the sieges have only been at the Vegapunk Science (VPS) crew home, but no sieges have been won by Horsia recently. TAS and VPS have not recently engaged Horsia in face to face combat.
[x] Upcoming Events!
SnapCrackPlays and TXO are hosting a ship battle this Saturday at 1:00 – 1:30 PM UK time (6:00 – 6:30 PM EST)! Make sure to go check his forum post if you want to join!
Sorry if I missed any events, if so please tell me!
