Yes. My name may sound not serious, but what I am about to say is conducted in complete sincerity: I was banned quite some time ago for having a hacked client (although there were no mods loaded onto it at the time, as it was liteloader and had no mods to begin with). This is the only server I take seriously in trying to maintain a good relationship with admin and users (and trying to stay mod-free). Although I pestered and annoyed some, it was because I liked to joke around with them. In fact many of those users became moderate friends (not too good of friends, because it is just a game, and you never really know someone until you met them in real life). I was deeply saddened whenI was permanently ripped from those relationships all because I forgot to change my launcher setting before starting the game.
A quote from Chailey (Or Charley, I presume)

“Maybe just take a break for a bit, and if you can come up with a really very convincing argument in a few months, I may consider unbanning you.”

I believe I have been of the server for a large chunk of time, and believe this request is convincing enough for you to consider letting me enjoy piratecraft once again.

P.S if you need any more screenshots, I’ll try to get them sent to you faster than I originally did.

Just realised this topic missed the chance of using a great pop culture title!

Guess we’re all pining for a more realistic PirateCraft world.

    Greetings, sea dogs and rapscallions!

Today the British people have voted in favour of an amendment to our charter. It concerns the British Empire’s PvP regulation and is thus important for every crew to see.

Article IV – Raiding and War

Citizens of the Empire may engage any player whose crew has not signed a Non-Aggression Pact (NAP) or other non-aggression treaty with the British Empire. Crews which have signed such treaties with the BE are considered allies and may not be targeted for player versus player combat (PvP) without their consent unless in defence. Likewise, no citizen may engage another member of the Empire without their consent unless in defence. Individual players and groups of players who act physically aggressively, regardless of nationality, may be immediately targeted for retribution.

Put simply: If your crew doesn’t have a non-aggression pact with the British Empire (BE), our folks will be allowed to fight you.

BE therefore cordially invites all her allies to sign a binding non-aggression treaty which can be found HERE. If you are not friends with us, but would like to avoid any future conflicts, we ask of you to do the same.

Undoubtedly, many of you will be asking yourselves: Why has BE decided to implement such a change? For this reason we have prepared a short Q&A session which should hopefully put your thoughts to rest. Please feel free to pose any questions you may have in this very thread.

Q1) Why is BE changing its charter?

Over the years our crew has grown experienced in the ways of Piratecraft. We have fought in many wars and we have accomplished many feats. We have also enjoyed a very large population of crew members in our time. BE generally maintains good relationships with those who have left for greener pastures – even months after their departure. What interests us is the reason why some people decide to leave in the first place. The answer, coming from the majority, is that they are unable to pursue their PvP interests. While BE does not support the raiding of innocent, peaceful players, we do recognise that duelling and raiding is a valid reason to play on the server. To a certain degree we are willing to accommodate that.

The second reason is to render defence somewhat less complicated. Up until now our charter has not permitted us to retaliate until first blood has been shed. Now citizens of the Empire may act preemptively against presumed hostiles. We will maintain lists of crews who we are friendly with on various channels. This is less time consuming than keeping individual kill on sight recordings up to date.

Q2) Is BE now a pirate crew?

No. Since her founding in early 2015, BE has always sought to pursue neutral to friendly relations with all non-hostile crews. This treaty does not change our core values. What it changes is our definition of a “non-hostile” crew. In our reckoning, any crew who wishes to be friendly with BE should be willing to sign a non-aggression treaty with us. Any crew who refuses is basically saying that they would attack us if they got the chance.

Q3) What happens if an allied crew member breaks the treaty?

Same thing as what happens with any treaty. If the ally is serious, there will be appropriate consequences. If not, there is no reason why BE should sign any future non-aggression treaty with them.

Q4) Will I now be attacked by BE PvPers?

Not if you sign a simple Non-Aggression Pact with us. If you’re a one-man (or lady) crew, we’ll even consider making a personal treaty with you. Also, we discourage our citizens from raiding players with a peaceful reputation. If you do not belong to this group, there is the possibility that you will be raided.

I’ve also thought a lot about how we can bring ships to life, both with econ based mechanics, but also as an actual primary location where pvp takes place.

So I’ll try to make it as understandable as I can, while at the same time keeping it simple.

    The world:
lots of small islands as gods mention.
very few semi lagre one that could maybe have room for 2-3 towns with a decent path system connecting them all.

    like real life Caribbean.

    The econ:

trade towns spread across the map, ideally 7-8 maybe even more, but it can always start out as a few. They would be pvp protected (entire settlement/port), to simulate that once in harbour, you’re basically safe, because the settlement is protected by a governor of a nation that is not pirate (that governor is not a player, nor is he existent in game). This is not to give anyone power as no players would run this. Its just to ban pvp from civilised places, such as towns and move it to the oceans where it is every man for himself. All trade towns would have kinda the same rules, but certain places buy things at a high rate and sell low. other places have different rates, so to encourage players to transport goods from port to port, making a living out of sailing and trading.

    The Piracy:

As no one can kill you on land, they will be forced to build/obtain a ship and hunt you down, if they so wish to kill you or steal your loot.. if this could work the way intended, then we would have created a unique experience for players, to even make a life as a merchant sailing between settlements earning cash to buy things with, oorr make a life as a pirate, hunting these merchants, hijacking their vessels, to either steal the goods and sell it themselves, ransom the ship or make a deal with another captain who wants to buy the ship. Idk if we can make certain ranks and disallow them from entering certain claims? if so, make trade towns no-pirate zones. make maybe 2 or so pirate islands, for pirate rank only, where goods are bought too, but at a much lower rate. This would actually compensate for flaw if i pirate steals loot he hasnt bought himself from a merchant ship, then he cannot just sell it at a regular port to make double the easy bucks.

Idk if we should have islands where players could also claim land, I guess we would have to have that for players to even obtain resources in the first place.

another idea would be to make the new world only focused around trading and looting at sea, but that would really take a lot of work making an entire economic system based around goods sold and bought and ways to obtain wealth. you would not be able to dig for resources, you would have to buy them with money you earn.

Honestly this last one I think might be too much for piratecraft, it would be very cool in my opinion to have a different world like that, but yeah.. Trade towns and more focus on transport of goods and fighting at sea along with regular minecraft would be cool too.

You could just copy over a bunch of towns from the old server onto the new one, put them on smaller islands and then have a team working on setting up the trade economy so its balanced, trial and error of course.

building bases could be restricted to the small islands and then semi larger ones could be admin claimed and have trade towns on them, gradually we can add more and more to give the world more variety.

Don’t allow bases to be built in the air or on water. If it gets too cramped, make more smaller islands or make the world bigger. Honestly I think you should maybe make the new map 1/4 of our current one we have now and see how it goes. . . ..

wu.. nice, i like the idea of a new world

Let me know if my idea could work and if it even sounds interesting to anyone but me. An yes, of course it has bits from others ideas discussed before, but think about it all mixed together.

This is good to hear, so for this hypothetical new world. Here are a few ideas:

-A map thats a bit smaller than the current piratecraft map, because indeed it would be pretty easy to hide things.

-The no live map is perfect, this encourages explorers and mappers to go out in the world and create their own maps and sell maps to other people! It’s perfect.

-Maybe using a plugin remove/ban items, like the vanilla boats. That way people are more likely to use ships they have created, and also because the vanilla boats are faster than the actual ships. idk this could be up to debate.

-Maybe making so there are SOME admin made docks around the world so that people making a trade run that could take a while( like a day or 2) they would dock the ship there at the end of the day, and continue the next day. (Maybe make it so that the ship is either rob-able OR they can lock the ship somehow even though its an admin claim, idk.)
Just some idea I just thought of.

Hallo active forum members of piratecraft! I am a member who was probably thought to have been Inactive or removed with the banning of my user, (yes, the most notable clown that you were so privlaged to have on your server). Now that I have been banned (going on one month, now) I have no need to stick around, other than to make small chat with those who are still able to play.  One word to my old crew (IF there are any active forum members and IF it hasn’t been disbanded) please keep your nubby brick arms off my crap 🙂 thanks!

P.S if you did, then I will not stop until one way or another, I ruin your lives!!! Good day.

ok, as many know, there are many people today in pirate craft who are deemed “powerful and wealthy” or just a pain in  the ass. (aka horisa) but what this post is about is how over time, i have started to notice things have been changing in power from those who have it now, to the favors of others.

Now before you go on you will probably ask

WHAT IS THE 48 LAWS OF POWER

The 48 laws of power is a basic understanding and a set of guidelines of how one can get and or take power from others, especially those who are influenced by him. here are the 48 laws of power in order

but now you wonder: “how is this used in piratecraft to help out others or even me?”

well with a basic understanding of these laws, you can better know how to outwit your opponent, especially with laws 5, 11, 14, 21, 26(many of us cannot use this due to our influence on the world), 27 (horsia), 35, 39, 45, and 47.

i see these laws used many times by many people throughout piratecraft. With this information, do as you will.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

ok, as many know, there are many people today in pirate craft who are deemed “powerful and wealthy” or just a pain in  the ass. (aka horisa) but what this post is about is how over time, i have started to notice things have been changing in power from those who have it now, to the favors of others.

Now before you go on you will probably ask

WHAT IS THE 48 LAWS OF POWER

The 48 laws of power is a basic understanding and a set of guidelines of how one can get and or take power from others, especially those who are influenced by him. here are the 48 laws of power in order

here is a video as well for more information on each law and how it is used throughout history.

but now you wonder: “how is this used in piratecraft to help out others or even me?”

well with a basic understanding of these laws, you can better know how to outwit your opponent, especially with laws 5, 11, 14, 21, 26(many of us cannot use this due to our influence on the world), 27 (horsia), 35, 39, 45, and 47.

i see these laws used many times by many people throughout piratecraft. With this information, do as you will.

I have now had to ask Gildor to post the contents of this message on my behalf, and it worked. For me, the spam filter or whatever is causing this problem is still active.

Gildor managed to edit his post once without it disappearing, so there were two duplicate posts in the feed. As a forum group admin I tried to delete one of them to make the feed tidier, but an error message popped up. This is a known problem that started at the same time as the disappearing post glitch alongside other problems listed in this thread.

PirateCraft News got hit by the glitch again today.

The Piratecraft Economy (and how it works) #1

If you’d done any research whatsoever (and potentially even if you hadn’t), you would be more than aware that wood is an infinite resource… The ability to sell logs at the cove (regardless of price), therefore, enables players to have a theoretically infinite source of money… If they put the work in… What cheeses me off is the fact that, instead of taking advantage of the theoretically infinite amount of money (because it’s ‘not worth it’?… Okay then…) you decide that it should be even easier to get (again) a theoretically infinite amount of money.

    My two cents.

That well explained ^^. @godsdead But still: 1. You should really make rules about it. 2.Exploiting game mechanics, meh it’s a really wide subject, for example iron for exploit game mechanics. 3. The economy is broken, and by not allowing machines it won’t change it. Lowering a price is not breaking the economy. And i was planning to sell gunpowder for around 20-25£ a stack, not 3-5£ (which i still could make profits) 4. And if i don’t make a shop, if all my resources stay for me? And argue after to sell it? Would be great deal. It’s just affecting me, so if i grief i am banned. If i break the economy i am banned too, simple and efficient. 5.Also, when you talk about a survival server banning machines, meh :/ Also, you are here i’m asking. A totally hypothetical situation let’s say i developed a machine (or see) who can shoot everywhere in the map with a theoretical infinite amount of projectiles, would it be allowed? Of course, without using any glitches and it’s a HUGE building, if i want to build it would probably take me 25-30 days of play time.

    1. There are rules, Ive told you them already. I’ve told you specifically, many many times its not as simple as saying “you can make this farm” because as ive already TOLD YOU ALREADY anything can be exploited.

    2. Again, read point 1.

    3. No its not. Read this post by Max https://piratemc.com/topic/the-piratecraft-economy-and-how-it-works-2/

Im just closing this thread, lous you are just talking out your ass.

This has gone on far too much, you are on your second chance here and you have made an absolute fucking whiny shitstorm and crying fit about being told you are not allowed to make a TNT farm to grief the world, to ruin the server for everyone that actually wants to play here and staff that will have to fix it.

If you continue this, I will take action with punishments.

    Rules

    Rule 2.

    Closed.
