Dunno if it’s down to the host or to something else
But we’re laggy, too laggy
All of us are suffering from itDecember 15, 2013 at 3:57 pm #926look, this lag is unbearable. Chunks wont load, blocks wont break, and while sailing I’ve been kicked for flying, twice now. You can get stuck ion blocks, and I spawn I bedrock. This server is far to laggy at the moment, an I think its because of the American hosting.
but yeah, something has to be done.December 15, 2013 at 7:32 pm #927I cant take it. I have been lagged out of the server to many times to say. I cant eat food, because when I start to eat, it never ends. I cant open crafting tables, or chests, or interact with villagers. Every two steps I take, I get disconnected because the server times out. And I know that there are loads of others experiencing it to. I don’t know what the problem is, but it needs to be fixed. PLEASE! I want to build a house!
December 15, 2013 at 9:02 pm #928Adzy and Crazy are right, it’s just way too laggy.:(
After every two blocks I mine I need to wait 20 seconds to be able to continue (not exaggerating) and following Adzy around the server was impossible. xDIf it wasn’t for me loving this server so much I would never return again.
I know it’s probably difficult to fix, but it would just be nice if things could become better…
A week ago, when I joined the server for the first time, this problem wasn’t as annoying as it is now.December 16, 2013 at 10:59 am #932First off, this is a new host so were still testing, I literally yesterday paid for next months hosting with them, I should have checked the forums before doing this.
Its a BIG task moving servers, were talking 24-48 hours to upload just the map, before anything and everything else.
Lag could be anything, if you want to be helpful GIVE INFORMATION, I cannot pinpoint a problem with just moaning, Its just me that runs/pays/manages the server and website.
How many players were online?
Minecraft is a fickle beast to keep running smooth, especially since the move form 1.6.2 to 1.6.4 doubled the resources needed, Lag can be caused by many things including, World too big/too many worlds, too many players, too many plugins, location of server from player, Internet connection, hardware inadequacies, Bukkit is just a piece of shit and dies for no apparent reason without a warning and no way to find out why, sometimes It just gets bogged down and needs a restart (which I just did).
I cannot see whats going on the hosts end, or how they have things setup, I have emailed a complaint and am waiting for a response, because our last host at the very least managed to run everything smooth with no lagg.
It could even be entities that were spawned in the world that caused problems.Im pretty sure its the host though, I was on a smaller plan with our last host and they managed to run everything fine lag free, Its really not easy to troubleshoot this, as its trail and error.
December 16, 2013 at 4:27 pm #934well, I was disconnected with one of those java messages every time the server lagged out. Sometimes, it would lag out with 4 people, or with eve just me. Sorry for moaning! 🙂
December 17, 2013 at 12:23 am #935My Ticket Response was useless.
Hello Tom,
Our servers are higher powered than most Minecraft Server Hosting companies. We can assure that we will do anything to help our customers as much as possible.
I could move your server to Amsterdam if you wish, however, the IP will change and it is essentials that you make a backup of all of your server files in case of emergency.
I get a decent connection though?
December 17, 2013 at 7:31 am #936Hell yeah, Amsterdam! 😛
Yesterday I had less problems. None actually.
But I was the only person onlineDecember 17, 2013 at 10:47 am #937ok so have been playin half hour or so, jut me, not mining and no lag, then a small amount thennothing, while having a browse over live map i see it says i quit, go back onto minecraft and see this.
Internal Exception: java.net.socketTimeoutException: read time out
i get this alot, and when others are on it kicks everyone at the same time for no apparent reason.
December 17, 2013 at 3:29 pm #938Is it the same as this? Because I could send that as a responce to the ticket, I have no idea whats causing this.
December 17, 2013 at 3:35 pm #939Could this be a DNS issue? Who here uses mc.piratemc.com and who uses the ip?
December 17, 2013 at 4:46 pm #940Yes- it is that message I get! And another one, something like the server has run out of memory, But yeah, when the first one happens, everybody gets disconnected.
P.S- why do I get kicked for flying when sailing!December 17, 2013 at 9:10 pm #941thats the same one i got tom, and the reason that you get kicked when sailing is that it thinks your flying as your moving at a good speed and not walking.
December 17, 2013 at 10:19 pm #942I did some research and this error kicks people when the server runs out of memory, I might disable a few plugins via trial and error to find whats the culprit, but its stupid, maybe the maps too big for this host, there not being helpful at all (the reason I decided to go with them, customer support) urgh.
Maybe I should try a refund and move again? Its a big process.. Ill try the trial and error with the plugins first, It might even be worth while looking for a better host for the 1.7 reset, Ill make it so the way we transfur belongings into the newly generated world would be via that ship at the cove (worldedit it in) I think you can even portal between servers? Maybe worth looking into as an option..
It’s possible the world is too big for this host to cope with.. Not sure how I test that theory? -
