This was started in 2014, and never finished, the idea was to use the Wiki to take contributions from loads of players to create the ultimate getting started guide.
http://wiki.piratemc.com/Getting_Started
A wiki means anyone can edit a page, update, add information, format etc, you can rollback or revert any bad changes from people too.
Remember back to when you first started, what would you have benefited from knowing? Can we explain it simply? If we can get that wiki page updated, then I can copy it over to the main website as an official starting guide.
Then we can move onto re-making spawn, and then have a tutorial etc in-game too.

Hi
December 14, 2016 at 3:55 pm #44807Well, I’m sure a briefing of the largest and most successful crews could come in handy, such as BE, TAS, Apple, and others.
We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Nah I don’!t think a brand new player needs to instantly know about existing crews, there could be a link in the bible to the crew wiki page or something!
December 14, 2016 at 8:21 pm #44821I think it should have a small thing about crew like just saying you can make your own or join one just so they know they are a thing.
December 15, 2016 at 6:26 am #44833imo new players don’t need to get into crews right away, unless someone is brave enough to adopt (the derpy term we use in TAS for inviting) a newbie to teach them the mechanics. ive kinda always told newbies that they should try to play solo for a bit and learn themselves, not rely on everyone to give them handouts. (items mostly, advice is usually given). from experience of helping newer players by giving items, they become dependent and that doesn’t help anyone in the future. so ive always suggested they play solo and try to sustain themselves before looking for a crew that can take care of them. but then theres also the people wanting to make crews to take care of new players.. it’s a shame the idea can get canned so quickly when just a couple newbies start creating a mess; thus ruining it for future new players.
If I had a nickel for every time I, Ooo hey, a butterfly!! *runs off chasing the butterfly*

We have a few Getting started guides out there, lets make one of them the ONE that goes on the website!
From what I can see we have;
https://wiki.piratemc.com/Getting_Started
https://wiki.piratemc.com/PaulOnFire%27s_Guide_to_Surviving
Anyone else got any links to add to this?
I think we should adapt one on the Wiki, I like Pauls as its got images too!
I cant believe we don’t have a getting started guide.. not even in the guides section!
Bonus points if anyone wants to make a video aswell.
