I’m going to trial using Dokucraft, then Faithful, then John Smith (legacy).

Should probably create one for default minecraft too…

Planet minecraft is being evil atm, so it won’t upload, but with the gun as a pick (golden), here are 3 images, taken at the cove, using the faithful 32×32 pack. You guys owe me (this is 4-5hrs work here).

Ive actually used that “The black flag” TP before when I was testing weapons, that guys slapping of his lips in that video is infuriating I couldn’t watch it.

As for the “item” as ive already said CrazyPirate we have already picked an item for the “Gun” that’s horse Armour, it looks the closes to a gun for anything in default minecraft, you hardly ever have that in hand, and it has no other purpose in-hand, a tool does, a tool can be confusing. A gold pickaxe already has a purpose, its to show WorldGuard information.

If we were to have a proper texture pack, would we have custom textures for items that do things in game? Like Claiming land?

It’s just that the way items are held, like string and horse armour, compared to tools, basically makes them an incredibly difficult block to work with, in regards to making it look like a weapon. String and horse armour are held horizontally, and at a slightly different angle.

I can easily change from a golden axe to any other tool, I think that for ease of use, it would be better to have a golden tool, as people can thusly craft it, and produce it en masse, rather than just finding it in the wild. It is just relatively simple, to have a golden shovel for claiming, a golden hoe for sailing, and a golden (sword, axe?) for a musket.

Most people generally accept a resource pack upon joining a server, I can do a default version of minecraft, only with the tool/string/armour designed as a gun, so it’s not such a shock, and then any other texture packs I do (John Smith, Faithful, Dokucraft, etc) I can provide via a forum post.

I’m happy to do a design for both the shovel and hoe, but what of? You could run a comp perhaps, asking what design is wanted for them, or if indeed they even need one.
