I’m new to this server and I’ve heard lots of great things about it but I cannot connect to it at all. I am running minecraft 1.8 but it says “Unkown Host” everytime I try and connect. My friend is playing on the server now, he is on the same internet as me and everything and he has no problems. Any ideas on how to fix this?

This sometimes happens when the minecraft.net authentication servers go down, did you manage to connect later on?

Since your friend is on the Geometry Dash same internet, are you both using the exact same DNS settings? Have you tried changing your DNS to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)?

Perhaps a gremlin’s chewing on the server cables? Or maybe, just maybe, the digital gods are displeased. Funny enough, once my Wi-Fi did this right before a crucial Geometry Dash level completion, kicking me off. Pure digital agony! Turned out the router needed a good ol’ reboot.
