November 29, 2015 at 10:09 am #24360I like the idea of this, however how do you plan to keep peace? Surely someone will try to disrupt it.
Also VE would be happy for a possible alliance, but how do we format it like an application?-sorry for all the questions 😛

November 29, 2015 at 10:14 am #24361If your an all peace empire, surely you need some form of protection either from a sub crew or hired mercs? (I can see this empire being attacked a lot if it has no armed defence)
November 29, 2015 at 10:56 am #24363Good luck, MoonKitsune, your aims are noble. I expect many of the warlike crews and bloodthirsty solo artists to try hampering your progression. But may good fortune shine upon you!
November 29, 2015 at 1:22 pm #24369I want to say I have seen loads of ruined castles/bases (mostly VE)
and if the good times were like that, they must of been pretty good. 🙂November 29, 2015 at 1:43 pm #24370@KingRS: I have thought about this a lot. Our main strategy will be defense, with bases designed so that only hackers would be able to get in. Of course, that means that nothing is completely safe, but that is the best option. There will also probably be a small defense unit, but I am still thinking about how that will be set up. As for the alliance, no official request is needed. You can just ask on the forum or in-game. 🙂
@Block: Perhaps. Hopefully if we were attacked, we would be able to remain safe in our strongholds. However, if we needed help, we would probably call upon the help of our allies. Having a mercenary group doing our dirty work (per se) seems to go against the empire motives.
@PaulOnFire: Thank you. 🙂 Yes, I am aware that there will be those attacking us for whatever reason (it is a pirate server, after all). But, with proper defenses, we should be safe.@Tom: Yes, I believe they and others have fallen from what they used to be. It is almost sad seeing an old way of PirateCraft life changing.

I think I might make what we were talking about soon.
Kitsune, to help protect your people I recommend joining The Allied, also I’ll most likely be sending you an invitation to something soon.
November 29, 2015 at 3:48 pm #24374No pvp? I bet other people will respect that idea greatly
Punching baby seals since before it was fun.
November 29, 2015 at 5:15 pm #24380@Palmerageddon – I am considering that. I think it would help.
@dagersh – I can’t tell if that is sarcastic or not, but I do know that some people may like this idea and others may not. I am aware that no PvP is not a popular idea, but it is because our focus would be on other things.- Solo player -
November 30, 2015 at 3:36 am #24407Noble attempt but it will never work unless you just live inside your siege-proof base and trade amongst yourselves. If you ever need to warp to a market, CoV and other rogue killers will just attack you for sport, heads, or because they are bored.
The golden era is fun to read about, but the problem with most aged servers is that the players who have been around forever – and haven’t been bored and quit – have a major advantage as they’ve setup xp farms around spawners, villagers, etc. Even the occasional death is no big deal because they have dozens of chests full of gear, enchanted books, and everything else they need. The only thing keeping them playing is the twisted thrill of jumping deckies or otherwise ranked but still less powerful, not-geared-for-battle players.
Unless you require all of LE to get Captain and one-button marco their no-delay warp, the rules you outlined above will just bring fresh meat to the slaughter.
Lastly, don’t underestimate the treachery of these veteran pirates. Many players have alts and they will just join LE with an alt and then tpa inside whenever they are in the mood for a culling.
LE’s rules would only work on a fresh server restart, and even then, only for a short while.
November 30, 2015 at 1:23 pm #24426I have to say I like the idea of this empire but its ideas are a little broken and need to be rethought of for example the “No deckhands” you should accept deckhands as they make for a great working force also if you are accepting deckhands then it makes them want to stay on the server more instead of them leaving because its to “complicated” Also the empire tax thing wont work in your favor at all nobody is going to pay tax to stay in a empire unless you offer protection which you dont because PVP is strictly off the table.
I like the idea your going for I agree pirate craft does need empires like old BE but I don’t think you are going about it the correct way

Rule 1 and 2 specifically make me want to take a special “interest” in this crew of yours. I look forward to having new “playthings”.
November 30, 2015 at 9:28 pm #24450Thank you all for your comments. It does not matter whether they were said with good or ill intentions; they will help the LE grow by revealing its weak points. I changed a few things above.
I feel that you are not completely understanding what I mean by peaceful. We will not go out of our ways to cause conflicts or unrest (in fact, this would be punished). However, it is not as if we would sit in a stone brick castle all day sipping tea. If you attack us, we will fight back. I already have several methods of defense in place. This will be a well-established empire, not a sect of people running around with no armor protesting violense. It is simply something we will not be a part of unless engaged. Forgive me if my tone is harsh, but I have received several threats already, so it must be said. The Lumin Empire is not something that you will want to be messing with. We will not be your doormat. Think about it this way – peace comes with a dear price. I knew this going in. There is much thought and planning that you cannot see. If you try to take our peace, we will defend it with all that we are. Heed my warning well.
Thank you.

November 30, 2015 at 9:37 pm #24452It would be great if you could enforce the rules of the empire against warring nations.
I point to /warp areas for trading as an example of empires failing to enforce their own trade areas (perhaps they don’t care at this point or don’t have enough willing enforcers). If LE had an effective means of enforcing its warp areas, it could become the new trade hub of the kingdom.
