[Suggestion] Adding Kits in Arenas's

Im creating this post to bring the suggestion of adding kits in one of two of the arenas (or even making a whole new bigger arena.)

Personally I know that when it comes to pvp, myself and many other pirate craft members go off server to better themselves in this essential part of minecraft. Now I know I can easily be shut down here simply saying that we can always drag our butts to the arenas and practice there, but for some reason that does not catch the eye of other players as people loot grab and take alot of time to get back to the arenas.

I know that there is plans for a mini game feature of pirate craft but seeing we already have arenas I feel this could be relatively easy to set up. I also have worked with small pvp and skywars plugins in the past on small servers with my IRL friends and have set up kits before in short time, however those were very small 7 person servers that are nothing like PMC.

My vision for a possible pirate craft kit pvp aspect is you go to the arena without armor and select one of the various kits which will in turn spawn you into the arena. These kits will then reset when you die resulting in you being tped back to a “arena spawn” and you can simply teleport out of the arena or arena spawn and none of the stuff will remain in your inventory.

I understand that staff have a lot on their plates currently with the server but I believe if this small little kit aspect was added to arenas then it would enhance the pvp and activity found on pirate craft. I also have no doubt that a bunch of players would love to help with this (including myself) if possible.

Just an idea/suggestion and please share your opinions too 😀

This was an option before, I have no clue as to why it stopped. I only remember this because one day I just roamed around cove and found it.

I used to get my PvP kills from the old arenas. It was a fun way to rank up quickly. The arenas were designed exactly like Jammin_Mas has described. You would join the queue with a command and then be teleported to the arena map with an empty inventory. We had both a choose-a-kit arena with rounds and a spleef arena.

Problem was, people found ways to glitch the PvP kits out of the arena and were filling chests with them. So Godsdead chose to remove the arena plugins entirely. (Thanks for that, BensterPC, if I remember correctly. It wasn’t even very good gear… -.- )

But yeah, I really miss these arenas. Maybe the time has come bring them back to life?

We’ve had to use realms servers and other servers to practice pvp, which is sad, because this is by far the best server out there. Ii fully support this, although I think godsy will probably say to wait for the games world.

Ahh that’s why it was taken away! But yes, on the other games to practice pvp I am not the biggest fan of because of all the hackers and cheaters. We have no hackers, no cheaters, easy, fair and square pvp practice matches.

This isn’t anything new, When the arenas were created they were created with a plugin to manage PVP kits, games, kills etc.

We ran it for years, there was multiple issues, including, duping items, people manaing to just steal the kits, so we couldn’t use OP items, issues when peolpe logged in and out during matches, and then you have the notificatons about games in the server, which makes no sense in a survival server.

Thats why I bought a second dedicated server to run games on, I own the hardware I just need to set it up, but as ive said a few times theres some massive backbone I need to update on PirateCraft first before I start tackling the games server.

answer: Be patient, and allow me to upgrade the backbone structure of what we have atm, IM paying per month for the games server hardware so Its not something I want to leave too long as its costing me.

Edit: I need a good general PVP mini games plugin that’s been tested; I used to use BattleArena2 which was amazing and had a ton of options for many game-modes and vast customization but its been left now, I could easily put together something, I want to test this games server hardware anyway and make sure the proxy is working fine between servers. There seems to be hundreds of random plugins per each gamemode nowadays, nothing seems to be an all in one like BA was, so its going to be trial and error, Ill pick one at random and have a play. There are many arenas built on the survival server already, someone give me a list of TPPOS so I can quickly export a few to the games server to test on please! Also if anyone else wants to help me with configs, Im more than happy to throw everything into github so you can help me crack out games quickly 🙂

I’d love to help you but Im only experienced in editing current plugins ie editing the settings/codes of it. (I dont know how to build one straight from the ground up yet.) If its as simple as copy and editing kits/games or even changing the settings of the plugins Im all for it 😀
