April 17, 2015 at 12:59 pm #12291I agree with things being pretty cheap. I just started a shop and compared to everyone else at market its hard to sell stuff. I wanted items that other people didn’t sale because then it would be a price battle. I try and compare all my prices to Ma_ch_i’s because I honestly did not know what they were worth. It is hard to sell stuff but if someone needs it bad enough they will pay good money. I also agree that the economy is crap. I have avoided selling ore or gems because of that. So @Azure, I’m ready for you store to open, I think mine is closing in the near near future.

*depends on how you want to view my super powers*April 17, 2015 at 5:52 pm #12314Myself, and skymanjay ran our shops with prices set on the demand for the item, every week we would re-structure and adjust our prices accordingly. we would rotate who had the cheaper majority of items, and in such kept the customers rotating and using both shops.
Unfortunately when Wog appeared, he made a point fo selling everything cheaper than us, i mean everything. he deliberately did this to try and make us drop our prices.
I didnt follow suit, neither did Jay this was based on the fact we both ahd good customer bases still and could always out supply due to us spending many hours collecting stock each week.
As more and more shops arrive, prices decline. its unneccesary to be £5 cheaper than someone if they will buy it from you if your only £0.1 cheaper!
Unfortunately, Gold Farms, Iron Farms and dupers have completely ruined the prices of precious ores, because everyone has infinite supplies thus making it worthless.
If a player robs you, and the only way to get back your stuff is to pay a hefty ransom, then consider this.
Every time you pay, your telling them that it is acceptable to do it. Consequently they will carry on, as they are supplying to a demand;)
If there is no payments for it, they wont keep doing it!
My shop is closed due to having to completely re-format the size and shape of my shop to fit in with the new plugin, but when it comes back i can assure you it wont be the cheapest, but it will still sell, and make money.
perhaps all of you guys that want to operate shops, consider renting a space from a current shop owner or perhpas go into supplying shops. youll get better prices for your items if your helping someone else out too.
My suppliers always got paqid more than any regular player trying to sell to me, they also got a good discount on buying things from me.
April 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm #12318I’ve always marketed my shop as cheapest diamond prices, simply because back then, we didnt have much of an economy, there were very few customers who could afford 50£ a diamond, so i came up with the idea of 20£ a diamond to be fair, and soon after wog came along and made it a very popular business for /warp trade, to sell diamonds, kinda like a discount market for the poorer ppl too.
I understand how this supply and demand works and the only reason why i saw the idea in the massive drop in price (from 50£ to 20£) was because the price shops at that time bought goods for would be crazy low, like £5 for a diamond, can’t quite remember.. so i cam up with the 20£ buy 10£ sell price, which turned out to be come very popular on the server and really also helped me get funds to further develop my trade city.
What happens now though, is that newer merchants arrive completely unaware of current prices, then sets a price for a diamond at 10£, when you can sell diamonds for 15£ at the bigger, more established shops. It makes no sense.. why dont the merchants just go and sell the diamonds themselves and make 15£ profit, instead of only getting 10£ from the customers buying?
always sell for highest price possible, while still being competitive. With the new warp market i see this is not something that is most shopowners understand. It’s just about being as cheap as possible.
I think the main problem to this is just uneducated people not knowing too much about commerce, being albe to buy a plot for next to no money and just do as they wish.
This is a smart strategy made by the owners of warp market, i will give that, but it totally changes the picture of the economy and soon we’ll all run around in diamond armor, cuz everyone can afford all the diamonds in the world.
I would suggest the new shop owners to reserach more, take some goods that aren’t sold in the surrent shops already and sell them for high prices at their own shops, this will make these shops unique, and it wont ruin the already built up structure of the current economic picture, it would give us more items to buy.. I know i have alot of items i need all the time that are not sold anywhere and i think its annoying.. I also try to buy and sell things that are not sold everywhere, such as granite, diorite, ink and other things.. we just need to think out of the box, if diferrent shops sell different things people would actually have a purpose of visiting different shops and not just one that has it all.. I know our key ores, such as diamond, iron, gold and coal will always be contested in every shop, but try and sell unique items too..
i would like to see that, and im also a bit confused about the diamond price being driven so low.. its just dumb business made by the new merchants in my opinion.

April 17, 2015 at 9:07 pm #12330<——Thnx to this guy, everyone already runs around with god diamond armor in the server @Bislo.
I am the only merchant who sells enchanted stuff, because the value of enchants can’t really drop or become really high due to the fact that it is based on a lot of luck. But I’ve made about 95% of my cash selling enchanted tools/weapons/armor.
The cycle of life continues, we will live, you will die.
The Red Lotus rules.April 17, 2015 at 9:23 pm #12331Bislo’s idea is nice.
Make small personal shops that specialize in items. That would for example allow me to sell stacks of Logs as i speacialized in that while another shop from for example bislo could sell stone.
However most prices will sink through specialized shops becuase people need an appeal for merchants to travel to their place and if they specialize they can afford selling it cheaper.
At least theoretically 😉April 17, 2015 at 9:45 pm #12333So karim, how much does a set of god armour cost? 🙂
April 17, 2015 at 10:37 pm #123392.5k$ for full set of armor
sword is 800$
bow is 800$

April 18, 2015 at 6:35 am #12359The issue with smaller shops is, some people don’t WANT to make a small shop. For instance I have spent the past several months of my life and nearly 100$ irl cash to make a massive mall of a shop; so obviously I am not keen on taking all that down to fix a problem that smaller shops caused in the first place.
April 19, 2015 at 8:49 pm #12446I know i know.. Bigger shops will be inclined to deny making smaller shops since they will of course loose money by downgrading the amount of goods they sell.. The thing i kinda wanted to highlight, which i might have fsiled to do, was that if more shops would look towards finding new markets and not all sell the same plain diamond, we might see more interest towards other items too, such as clay blocks as building materials? I think they sre great for building nice looking houses, which btw fits the piratey era of caribean houses painted in many different colors. I myself had a plan of creating hype about player written books.. Theyre so cool! They can be used for so many things and can easily be mass produced if you have materials. They could be used to write news papers, then copied and distributed along the map in “news chests” or dispensers.. Maybe a way of comunicating with a group of players not currently online on the server? Rule books, orders, stories! We can write our own stories, make literature and fill pirate craft with it.. Journals or historicsl documents of piratecraftian events, maybe even tales and such.. Idk with everyone else but i think it would be kinda cool.. Thats why i stsrted buying ink. I want to stsrt selling books and quill for cheap to everyone, but i never saw anyone selling ink in their shop, so i created my own marked for ink by buying it. Thats what i want to see! People think longer than just diamond and iron.. Be creative!! 😀
oh and btw i hope slot of people will be inclined to start using books more, theyre super cool!
