Server Outage last night

This is a courtesy forum post for anyone curious about last nights outage of 4 hours 48 mins.

Around 00:00GMT after reboot the server became unresponsive hosting side, Im unsure of the reasons, If I was to take a shot in the dark their box got overloaded and stuck creating new processes.

I stayed up for an hour trying to boot the server, but I was too tired to function or stay up any longer and decided to sleep at 01:00 when the server was not booting. I created a ticket to the host at 00:25 when a few attempts failed, they responded 3 hours later when I was asleep saying “Nothing is wrong”. the problem must have cleared itself, but they didn’t think it smart to start the server.

I woke up at 05.00am to manually start the server.

This host is kind of idiotic in my opinion… Do the bare minimum of their jobs… despicable can’t they at least be courteous and respectful to the greatest Pyrate server ever!?!? Descpicable…..

Tragic, simply tragic.

On another note, these hosts may be sucky, but we’ve had far worse, it’s a shame there aren’t any decent server hosts out there.

And solid;

The server “owner” pays the bills, to keep the server running, etc. This is godsy.

A server “host” provide the space, for the map and the players (basically, the server, Ip address and all) for a fixed price. These are the people causing an issue, because they always mess things up.

You know what.. I haven’t even seen a single thank you to gods from any post so far.

Lol lets stop talking about faults and ect and thank the man who keeps helping us time after time after time lol.

Lets just say thank you to gods and nothing else because if you had not even noticed he is pissed because he fixes the server and the doesn’t get 1 simple thank you.

Now that’s all I gotta say i just mean come on guys.

Thank you gods for bringing back online 🙂
