It seems its time we put together a solid punishments list for breaking rules.
To add to this im going to add a warnings system, accumilating a certain amount of warnings will auto-ban that user.
Action already taken:
- Promoted SuperGL to moderator
- Re-added spam filter for chat (Sorry, the idiots spoilt it)
To-do:
- Limit or remove chatting from the livemap (Sorry, too many idiots again)
I would like community input for the current rules, do you think anything needs to be changed or added?
- Be Polite & Respectful to all players.
- Anything GodsDead or Iamthereaper89 says, goes.
- Use common sense.
- No Hacking/Cheating at all, Permanent ban.
- 3 Warnings from either admin gets a reset stats and demoted to deckhand
- Goods will not be replenished.
- Do not ask for items or rank upgrades.
- Do not claim piles of rubbish as a form of griefing.
- No advertising at all.
- No Shops near spawn
- Gaming stats will get your statistics reset
The only solid punishment at present is for Hacking/Cheating, which is a perminant ban.
Some punishment options: TempBan, Ban, TempMute, Mute, Jail, Kick, Restting Stats, Demoting player, Adding a warning point (Or many).
I want to hear what you think punishments should be for breaking specific rules, I try to avoid a permanent ban as I think thats usually too OTT, and a warning of sorts oculd suffice.

- No trolling or flaming
- No expliting gltiches
- No bullying
- You are responsible for all activity on your account
— Seperate rules for chat–
- No spam
- English only
- No Execcive caps (Stopped by filtering auto)
- PG rating? Keeping the swearing limited
— Rules for gameplay —
- No offensive structures
- No building within eyesignt of spawn

5 stays
6 and 7 can go in hand as one
8 can be re-worded to something along the lines please only claim land you intend to make use of, anything that is deemed unreasonable will be removed. and anything appearing to be griefing wiull also be removed.
9 10 and 11 all stand

June 18, 2014 at 4:32 am #3189You know you could get around the spam filter right? By changing 1 thing from the previous sentence so if I type in “Hackers! Bad Server!” People usually would press the up key and enter and continue doing so and that’s spam, but since spam filter was added again the person could press the up key and remove/add anything and it would show up.
I think excessive spamming even after being warned should be an act where the person should be banned, because most likely he came onto the server like it was a random server and tried to spam by using the above technique. His intentions aren’t good. He obviously didn’t come to the server to play it, he came to ruin it and deserves good ol’ ban!
Duping is another ban-able act.

June 18, 2014 at 7:28 am #3193Sad that certain things wont get through chat, but I can assume its worse having to deal with sentence after sentence of spam. Losing livemap chat is also hard to do, but oh well! 🙂
June 18, 2014 at 4:21 pm #3198I had a brainwave: Magistrates. Not mods, or admins, but they uphold the law. They have less power than mods, but can mute players, and can send players to jail. Also, any ban requests go on to them: they talk to everyone involved, then if they think its worth banning, they forward it on to a mod, or admin. Its a fantastic idea, as they have powers, but not that much! But only for trusted players.
June 18, 2014 at 4:51 pm #3199Haha Crazy, I had the same idea! The problem is, which rank do they inherit? If I had more than one, I need to set that group to inherit another groups perms, do they get upto gunner? etc.

June 18, 2014 at 5:46 pm #3201Maybe Boatswain perms if there close enough. It would have to be individual per person like if they were captain they keep those perms and just add the magistrate perms to it

June 18, 2014 at 7:20 pm #3209I think this Magistrate thing is an awesome idea! I think Magistrates should get inherit that rank, and then they could rank up to boatswain themselves and inherit that rank too.
Plus their rank should be in blue! xD as in police 😛

June 18, 2014 at 8:43 pm #3211Lol, blue rank! But it makes sense, you guys don’t get burdened with silly complaints all the time, yet the Magistrates don’t have a ridicules amout of power! 🙂
