The PVP tag timer is when you get tagged for PVP, either by someone else or you tag someone.
This isn’t a new request, I have talked about it many times before, but I have never made a poll for it.
Lets make a pros and cons list.
Pros:
People that start PVP fights cant just start fights and escape quickly, using teleporting going backwards and forwards in fights.
Cons:
If you are getting attacked by OP players or a gang, then its going to be harder to escape.
We could try incremental increases. remember nothing is set in stone and can be changed easily at any time.

November 16, 2016 at 5:43 pm #43510One thing, is there any way at all that you can make the combat tag not affect dropping items? It irritates me.
Edit: Not that type of dropping, people. Throwing.
We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

November 16, 2016 at 5:46 pm #43513Take my suggestion with a grain of salt. However is it possible to create an increasing timer for each hit taken. Let’s say 10 seconds every time you are hit up to a maximum of 60 seconds. The reason for this would be to eliminate the issue when a friend tags you for fun and you have to wait a while before you drop item’s or teleport?

……………………………………………………………….. i swear to god you better be joking…………………….
the whole point of the god damn plugin is so people who log off while in combat get punished -losing their items is the punishment-
and for my 2 sense its ok right now but it could be longer 30 seconds is about the max imo
Lucky you will be missed 🙁
November 16, 2016 at 5:49 pm #43516Not that kind of dropping items :/
I meant throwing them.

-Benjamin FranklinNovember 16, 2016 at 8:10 pm #43523id suggest the slow increments and see how each does. imo anything past 30 sec is a bit much, esp if you’re playing with friends and either get accidentally tagged when you need to tp, or need to log off for an emergency brb, it’s annoying to have to wait for a tag to wear off. having a longer tag also makes it harder to escape and just log out in the wilderness to escape pvp (obv after the tag wears off)…. too many people do that.
If I had a nickel for every time I, Ooo hey, a butterfly!! *runs off chasing the butterfly*

Anyway I’m only stating this because if there was even one extra second I was a goner. I quite like the timer right now because no matter how high you change it, E-pearls (derived from Elexandre’s cowardice) are on everyone these days, I suggest making a ten second cooldown for them 😀
Ironic
November 16, 2016 at 9:25 pm #43530being the pvper that i am, and considering how horrible i can be with pearls and faraway targets with my bow, i voted for the longest option xD

love this idea
Hi
November 17, 2016 at 3:14 am #43555Lol, but I’m the master of escaping. I think the 15 seconds is fine. Waiting up to a minute after an accidental tag 0_0, with the 10 sec increments… That just adds a whole new level of trolling..

@GTerwilligerNovember 17, 2016 at 6:11 am #43560odi, I remember that event. vent told us not to fight you, we were supposed to be there to watch. you started running, so I shot you, and I think I was the one that narrowly missed that second shot.
I still stand by my suggestion for 20 second pvp tag timer, to see how it does.

oh well, must’ve gotten that detail wrong, sorry everyone I was only running from 10 God people with their swords out, not 10 God people with their bows out, thanks @Cysteen

Yeah its a toggle, but its staying as disabled because its to stop clever players hiding items before they die.
Why isn’t reducing it to 10 seconds an option?! xD
Because thats backwards, make an argument for it to me 10 seconds and we can consider it!

This is a great idea, im going to request that be added, if he does remind me to give you something sweet in-game, maybe instead of per hit we do damage.

Yup, super valid point, I think 15 is fine, I just wanted to ask the community what they thought.
I think were golden at 15 seconds, Ill keep it as it is, but out of this thread came a new idea! so it was well worth creating the poll and thread, we could have a dynamic timer, so for longer battles you are tagged in PVP longer, so for those God VS God battles, your PVP timer jumps up, giving a higher chance of someone logging and losing? I think thats an example of the request.
November 17, 2016 at 5:48 pm #43569I already find it incredibly annoying when someone hits you by accident, say with a pickaxe, then you have to wait seemingly forever to be able to use your inventory, teleport and type in main chat. Increasing this to 60 seconds would honestly drive me insane.
It’s usually easy enough to tag someone once every 15 seconds in a chase, especially if there are more than two people involved. Teleporting away takes additional time where you must stand still, type the command and (depending on your rank) wait for the cooldown.
So if an injured player someone manages to completely escape from battle for 15 seconds and stand immobile without moving, clicking or adjusting the camera for additional 5-10 seconds WITHOUT the opponent catching up and sending them to the great dark beyond, they honestly deserve to get away imho.
Fight or flight are both valid reactions to a threat. In real life you wouldn’t expect someone who is outgunned to go full kamikaze for the lulz.
