Why remove the /bottle plugin?
- I want to implement a XP multiplier plugin, so for events, or weekends or donations everyone online gets a multiplier of XP, say 1.5x XP for X amount of time, I cant use this with a /bottle plugin as then you can gain infinite XP, since you can get another player to splash that comes on after the multiplier gets sent, or use a dispenser.
- /bottle is pre-1.9 When 1.9 was released they included mending using XP bottles, this means anyone can mend their OP Armour during battle, and since its as simple as using an XP farm and /bottle to store XP for battles, this makes Armour invincible, OP armor battles will last hours.
- You can still farm XP bottles from villagers.
Reasons to keep it
- Makes ranking easier (Not a good thing)
- People can sell it (You still can, farm villagers)
- You like everything really easy.
If you vote “no, keep it” make sure you reply with why we should keep it.

September 1, 2016 at 10:25 pm #40122Godsy, In my opinion removing the bottle plugin will make the line between rich and poor players even bigger. The well established players that have a ton of exp will have a huge advantage and make a ton of money.
Also, if we do remove the bottle plugin, the price for one stack of exp will skyrocket. It will probably go from 100 a stack to 300.
Edit: Good point Godsy. It is true that EXP bottles would be in limited stock, and removing /bottle would solve alot of problems.
Pro Tip: Incase /bottle does get removed, start farming and bottling exp. 😛

This was covered in game, same thing for Gapples. Yes they will have stock, but it stops the stock from growing. It wont be used as much as its limited stock too, and it stops new players from getting OP with it. All positives to remove /bottle, It was pre-1.9 when you couldn’t mend Armour with something as stupid as XP (What a ludicrous mechanic)
September 1, 2016 at 10:28 pm #40125America, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer!
But seriously, if you remove it All the op players with bottle O enchanting stashed will get even more stacked.
we can somewhat compare this to the god apple situation.
September 1, 2016 at 10:28 pm #40126People with a supply will eventually use it up or sell it. Its a short term cost for a long term fix imo.

September 1, 2016 at 10:31 pm #40128i think we should keep it because for those who are trying to level and are sitting on xp they cant afford to lose will make them stay inside thier base from fear of dying and losing the xp. Bottling makes it convenient tho us who are trying to lvl and who also want to go out and mine/get items etc.

Yeah, thats how /bottle works at present, the rich get richer. Read the comment I made just before you posted, its temporary. http://piratemc.com/topic/poll-should-we-remove-the-bottle-plugin-for-fairer-gameplay/#post-40124
September 1, 2016 at 10:33 pm #40130Yes it will be harder to rank up, but how will the new players get it to rank up? All of the rich players with the exp probably wouldn’t want anything from the new players, and not all new players have access to a exp farm.
The cause of unintentional trouble.
September 1, 2016 at 10:37 pm #40131I can only give you one side of the picture because I am still working hard to progress enough to compete with Veteran players. I only can give you the opinion of someone leveling, so I dont understand the other side of it. Basically are you trying to deplete thier stashes?
September 1, 2016 at 10:38 pm #40132I voted no, keep it.
I feel that the richer and wealthier players, who mostly have large amounts of xp stashed will have a major advantage, they can get even richer by selling, and make wars harder to be won, which isn’t all a bad thing I guess. If you have large amounts of it.
My two cents.

PirateCraft Veteran, circa 2015.September 1, 2016 at 10:57 pm #40134By this time most of the powerful people who this is set out to cap (I assume) already monopolies xp/god gear production. It would have a dent, but not much of an affect. And means that people like me who are trying to compete with the more experienced players are left struggling to get on par- without this ‘perk’.
This may not be relevant, but I think if we are trying to remove the division between the weak and the powerful is to remove God apples; the only real division.
God apples are no longer craftable (I don’t think) and that seriously hinders Pvp fights with veterens with huge supplies of god apples. Potions, normal golden apples and pretty much anything else are easy enough to make, but god apples are expensive and now near impossible to obtain. And people should be able to exchange their gapples for gold, gold that they would use for normal golden apples or potions.
Anyway, yea I don’t think you should remove the xp thingies, sorry.

September 1, 2016 at 11:00 pm #40135I have to agree with river on this one. EXP bottles have now become an important part of pvp now and removing it wouldn’t be so great in my opinion. This will also lead to a state where people who pvp and have it stashed have a much better chance to kill people who just grind for exp weekly for a weeks use of EXP. This also puts down the eco on mending books, only people with good exp villager trades will use mending and it would make it hard for a lot of people.

Also known as Salty_Shay 🙂September 1, 2016 at 11:02 pm #40136i think it should be kept because one of the reasons it is to be removed is to try to balance the gameplay, people with more effecient villager farms can still get the stack or 2 bottles that they need for combat, and that leaves other players (the poorer or who hasnt built a villy farm yet) stuck with a dwindling supply of exp.
honestly i was split between the two choices, i like both of them, but without the bottle command, there is not much reason for a double exp weekend, except to fast rank up, which can be only used by some players.

September 1, 2016 at 11:03 pm #40138removing the plugin will in fact make the veteran players richer and more OP. BUT, their supplies will eventually get diminished. for PvP, it makes fights last 30 minutes or more, because all we have to do is smash a stack of bottles and we have a fully repaired set. if we don’t have the exp to waste, itll mean the vet players need to think twice about just wasting exp on pointless fights. once the exp supply is diminished, itll make pvp a bit more balanced vs players that have fewer resources and the vet players that have resources to piss away at their pleasure. keeping the plugin just makes it easy to play and rank up. ranking with exp already is difficult (I remember when I had to get to 80 lvls for my first gunner rank, was horrible), but it shouldn’t be too easy… as a suggestion to compensate could be the exp requirement get a little tweaking, but that is another topic. imo, getting rid of the plugin will eventually make it harder for the vet pvpers to just stay alive forever in pvp.
