Lately, I have had “developers block”, or lack of ideas. I am going to be becoming a bukkitdev publisher soon, and I need ideas! I have a few to start out with, although I would like to hear from the community for their ideas, big or small. Some of my ideas:

My Favorite one:PlayerRules+ This plugin is mainly geared toward Piratecraft, as I know players have rules such as no pvp in shops or no opening donation chests. This plugin would allow you to make rules, and when a player enters a defined area, it notifies them of the rules. If they break rules, you(the rule-setter) get a /mail, live notification if you are online, and puts them on a serverwide “Wanted List” All of these features are configurable, and triggers may include: PvP, Chest Opening, Going into a Restricted area, etc.

Advertiser(In development): Advertiser is a advertising(not for servers!) plugin. With this, you can advertise to a certain group, multiple groups, people with different stats, or the whole server! For example, if I wanted to advertise a elite-only group for people with 750+ kills only, I would do:

/advertise stat kills 750+ (message)
or
/advertise group boatswain null (message)

And it would charge(optional) and show this message to the qualifying people:

[Advertisement] Join the Like-A-Boss group! You qualify! Message mr_example to join!

Ranks+: This plugin is inspired by Piratecraft, but instead of many plugins, compressed into 1. This will rank you up/give you certain permissions when you reach certain stat levels like our server. Except in 1 plugin.

Dueler: A Duel plugin which sets two players up in a custom arena, predetermined glass room, or while falling through the void but never dieing(lol). We could have item/money rewards and customizable completely.

NPC-Economy: A plugin that would fit the needs of: http://www.piratemc.com/thread/ecco-running

Plank Game: A simple game that 4 players on a small cross 1 block wide fight to hit each other off. May come with prizes.

This is all I can think of for now. PLEASE suggest ideas and vote for you favorite ones! I may include recognition.

Maybe you could combine this with the bounty plugin?
I don’t know much about writing Plugins but maybe if you could automatically place a bounty on someone if he/she breaks a rule that would work great and add him to “our” wanted list?

If possible maybe a plugin that has something to do with greek fire. If you don’t know what greek fire is, google it. It would have to be shot out of some sort of cannon maybe… i don’t really know…

Loving the idea of player rules; it’s a way to enforce the rule on a serverwide basis; but those jerks that enjoy causing trouble will enjoy it as well because they will get ‘attention’ by being added to a wanted list. <span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>This way also those who like to pvp can sign up as a law enforcement guild of people who hunt down wanted pvpers. </span>

In short; I think the player rules will still not be followed; but making a plugin would help discourage pvp in shops and alert those to the pk jerks so there can be a bounty hunter/law guild!

Develop something that gives Athen fancy flying wings. 🙂 (jk) Make a plugin that establishes an NPC Trade Shop system/ecnomy like in this: http://piratemc.com/topic/ecco-running/

If you do that, then you sir, will be the one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. It also sounds a lot cooler then those other ideas! ( No offense mate, but it’s the truth xD )

Things like player rules are already plugins, If you make a worldguard selection you can set “flags” for that region, It would be silly to try and compete with WorldGuard.

Theres not much need for it, you have signs, that gets information across.

A lot of these things can be made with existing plugins.

One plugin that I would like, would be a “Ship building Dock”, thats claimed by WorldGuard, you pay a fee to a sign to build in that region for say 10-15 mins, there is a sign that counts down the time you have left, After the time limit is up the region goes back to being an admin only region.

so really you want a bit like real estate lease, but with a timer on it.

thats hwat id like, id like to be able to rent a property for say 5days and after 5 days the rental expire and trust is removed from the tenant

@iamthereaper89 yes that! I just found a way to do this using WorldGuard Regions using http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/regionforsale/ Its even got a timer and rent, it can even reset that region back to its original state after the rent is up.

So it looks like I don’t need this any more, found a way!
