Well, that was a fun ship battle! Next time it might be cool if everyone had the same ship size to make it a balanced competition. But it WAS entertaining to see a man-o-war turn up and completely annihilate the opposition. xD

Hopefully we’ll have more of these in future. I can’t wait to see the screenshots from this skirmish!

I second the idea of routine ship battle! Once a month or fortnight sounds good. Either battle locations can be decided a few days in advance to give time for people to sail there or chose a spot near the middle of the map that is used as a regular arena. It can act as a ‘no mans land/water’ and participants can build there ships near it or build ports to access it quickly? Once Phantom have finished building our crew base I’m sure we can lend a hand to prepare an area / build a public port.

As for the other days battle, I was only able to see it from my ships perspective and we were far too busy avoiding Jammin’s submarine ramming us to be aware of the full battle! That being said, the Phantom Sovereign’s role in the battle when roughly as follows…

• Phantom fleet leaves the crew base: the Phantom Narwhal (Astro’s sub), the Phantom Interceptor (Ketoh’s Brig) and the Phantom Sovereign (my indiaman)
• The Phantom Sovereign is painfully slow so we arrive late to the sound of cannons in the distance.
• We approach the closest ship to us, Jammin’s submarine, and as soon as we are along side fire several broadsides (13 cannons) in quick succession as he surfaces.
• Several of Jammin’s cannons were disabled and he makes a strategic submergence before we manage to inflict anymore damage!
• We move on to the British ship ahead which appears immobile/unmanned and from a distance loose several broadsides to finish it off.
• Ketoh’s Interceptor moves round the other side of the ship and also opens fire.
• Meanwhile, Jammin resurfaces behind us and begins ramming the ship, which we attempt to manoeuvre away from! This skirmish continues as Jammin and Madmonkey (whose ship was destroyed by the British), repeatedly chase us, ramming so they can board.
• A brief moment of panic ensures after Monkey sneaks aboard and 3 of us scramble to shoot him overboard! xD
• Eventually we break free of the sub, firing our stern cannons as we pull away then turning to fire more broadsides until the submarine begins to sink!

I’m sure some others can fill in the gaps I’ve missed as this is only the parts I was involved in, or wait for Jammin’s video which will do a better job of explaining the chaos than I can in writing!
