The current pvp meta on pmc needs work. Players can just be in combat for 8s then tp away or just flat out log to prevent dying.
My suggestion:
- Increase combat tag to 30s, this allows time for the enemy to catch-up and finish the kill which is impossible to do as of now.
- Add a logout timer that leaves an npc when the player logs out. There are plugins that have this available. This makes it so people cant combat log because their logout npc will stay for 30s to 1min depending on what its set at.
Adding these two suggestions would 100% increase the ability to pvp on piratecraft. I’m a longtime vet on here and also have been on countless servers with similar mechanics installed and the pvp is amazing.

I’m well aware but this is related to being in combat. If a player is out of combat they can just log out to avoid dropping their set. It’s very easy to get away and do just this currently. My suggestion once again is making a default logout npc that stays for 1min even if a player is out of combat.

May 25, 2020 at 8:19 am #66712Here is how I see it. As said before G sets are becoming more frequent in use, but it does put new players at a disadvantage.
I don’t think you can do much. I mean players using /backs is way worse. Mostly because it is over powered and anyone who is not a donator is screwed. If One comes after you there isn’t much you can do. This game is rigged so that people want to donate. I don’t blame the server I just think that over time the only people who will be long lasting players will be those who have a donator rank due to the perks that keep their armories full and their purse well lined.
For players without those perks you don’t stand much of a chance plain and simple. As for the whole pvp thing I think most of the people bring in a buddy who is a donator so whatever you do your screwed so to speak unless you yourself are a donator who has INSTANT teleporting and can get out of their quickly before they are killed.it’s a hard fact one that is not easy to deal with. If you don’t have people who help you on this server you will get chased off. I don’t see PMC growing, but shrinking as older players leave there won’t be anyone to replace them since all of the players majority will just be donators who bought the rank and didn’t bother actually playing the game to rank up and will loose interest and leave. You need your base players. At the end of the day it’s non-donators who make up that category. You need to level the playing field more so new players actually want to stay and not get chased off bye your donators who just joined a week before the guy they just killed and what will not likely return due to the toxic ways they are treated.

May 26, 2020 at 9:40 am #66718I agree with CountMonteCresto, i can deal with the fact that people can pay to get stuff easily that you can get normally, but it is completely locked unless you pay. For example having an extra 3 homes, instant tp, no tp cool down is a MAJOR advantage, you should be able to get these without paying, like even if it was just for quartermasters or firstmasters at least you could grind to get it instead of asking mummy for her credit card so i can play, its a real reason why people leave, especially why i am not motivated to come back to the server often is due to this fact.

May 29, 2020 at 3:25 pm #66835Thank you for the suggestion, but we feel the current timer of 15s is sufficient and gives a somewhat satisfactory solution to both PvPers and non-PvPers, without us pandering to either one. We recently increased the timer from 10s to 15s, and added the pearl cooldown which should give you a little bit longer to fight. I feel if we increase it any further it will start to impact the builders and more passive players proportionally worse.
The anti-log feature has been suggested before and from what I remember was denied by Gods.
To whom it may concern, because I see this as relevant here (copy-paste from discord):
We are not a PvP server at the core like Loka, and we don’t want to become one. Please don’t get offended when we don’t implement your suggestions. We have a delicate balance on this server between PvPers and builders – one staff currently see as a very healthy balance, and any features we implement will aim to keep that balance or even improve on it further. Are aren’t the PMC of 2014, or early 2017 where everyone was killing each other… true ‘pirate’ fashion – we’ve risen above that 2 dimensional playstyle to offer people a wide variety of ways they can enjoy the server. If you don’t feel like you get the kick out of PvP on here like you once did, then it might be good to take a break or move on – there are plenty of servers that offer that kind of pvp orientated playstyle and we wish you the best of luck on your travels. Just please don’t become hostile at us, staff, or the community.Thank you for understanding.
